Our school organized a trip to MTA-Natural History Museum in order to reinforce our students' scientific curiosity and increase their interest in natural history. Our students witnessed billions of years of history of nature by examining the fossils, minerals, geological structures and biodiversity samples exhibited in the museum. Thanks to the activities and workshops held in the museum, our students had the opportunity to learn scientific research methods in practice. In addition, they further enriched their projects on topics such as renewable energy sources, protection of ecosystems and nature-based solutions with the knowledge they acquired at the museum. This trip increased our students' love of nature and environmental awareness, while contributing to them gaining more in-depth knowledge and skills in STEM fields.

Students learned about the importance of forests for humans and the impact of human activities on them.

In our STEM activity on Biodiversity, students worked in the school garden, selected an area with different types of trees, marked a sample quadrilateral, measured its dimensions, and calculated its surface area. They counted the trees within it and estimated tree density per square meter.

They then measured trunk perimeters to estimate the average age of the trees and used the PlantNet app to identify species such as pine, carob, cypress, and oleander.

The activity concluded with an estimation of how many trees—and of what age and species—would be lost if a road were built in that area.

During the event, teachers and students who became members of the TEMA Foundation received their membership cards, proudly becoming part of this meaningful initiative. Since all classes became TEMA volunteers, our special education class and 8/D class were honored with a TEMA leaf award for their dedicated efforts in environmental responsibility. The most impactful part of this event was when TEMA representatives and volunteer students planted saplings in our school garden, fulfilling their responsibility for environmental protection and reforestation. Sapling planting allowed students to apply their learning in biology, environmental science, and engineering to real-life contexts. This event not only strengthened students' love for nature but also demonstrated their commitment to creating a sustainable world through STEM-driven education.

March 22 is International Water Conservation Day. The purpose of celebrating this day is to highlight the importance of safe water and raise awareness about the global water crisis.

🔹In connection with Water Conservation Day, we visited the Samegrelo Zemo Svaneti regional branch of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia, the Zugdidi service center and water disinfection systems in the village of Ingiri.

🔹The students were interested in how the vitally important product - drinking water - is processed and what path it takes before it reaches our taps.

🔹They got acquainted with water laboratory research methods and the daily monitoring process. They saw how the quality of drinking water is checked automatically and how it is controlled once an hour by specialists from the chemical-microbiological laboratory. The laboratory staff gave a lecture to the students and provided information about the procedures for pumping water and distributing it to the population.

🔹 The students viewed water pumping stations, modern chlorine gas and calcium hypochlorite water disinfection systems, which are equipped with safety devices required by European standards, a chlorine chemical neutralization system, automatic control and the ability to connect to SCADA systems via the Internet.

🔹 They also visited the sewage treatment plant, water purification systems, and observed how wastewater is cleaned in accordance with the full biological cycle - where bacteriological cleaning is carried out along with mechanical cleaning, ultimately resulting in absolutely purified and harmless water flowing into the river, which is of great importance from an ecological point of view.

In this process, we observed the growth processes of plants through science, analyzed data with technology, created sustainable ecosystems with engineering, and measured the development stages of plants using mathematics. While discovering scientific concepts such as photosynthesis, soil analysis, and ecological balance, we also carried out a productive study that contributed to nature.

This project provided our students with the opportunity to gain environmental awareness, understand science and nature together, and produce innovative and sustainable solutions. We realized how important it is to protect biodiversity and experienced the real-world impact of STEM!

In the first stage of the experiment, liquids containing hydrogen peroxide and catalyst were carefully measured and mixed using scientific methods. Data was collected by examining the reaction rate and the properties of the materials used with technology. A safe working environment was provided by arranging the experimental materials in line with engineering principles. Mixing ratios were calculated using mathematics and the experimental process was analyzed.

As a result, the reaction that took place created a large amount of colored foam, which allowed us to observe the speed and effect of chemical reactions. This experiment was a fun and educational study where STEM was directly applied!

Within the scope of science, the working principles of mechanical systems were analyzed and electrical circuits were examined. Using technology, the components of remote-controlled vehicles were programmed and data was collected with sensors. Thanks to engineering, the suspension, engine and mobility of the vehicles were tested and their performance was evaluated. The optimum driving mechanism was determined by measuring speed, turning angle and distance with mathematics.

As a result of the experiment, the control systems and mechanical features of the vehicles were observed and the opportunity to discover real-world applications of STEM was provided. It was an educational and fun study on robotics and mechanical engineering!

Students studied ecosystems and modeled habitats of different species by conducting scientific research. They developed sustainable designs using engineering skills and built environmentally friendly structures with recyclable materials. They analyzed environmental data using technology and digitized artwork. They made their projects more robust by using mathematics to make measurements and ratio calculations.

This activity demonstrated the role of STEM in protecting biodiversity by providing students with both creative thinking and scientific analysis skills.

Students analyzed soil quality and ecological factors by observing the growth processes of plants using scientific methods. They used data collection and measurement tools to follow the development of plants using technology. They increased field efficiency by designing modular vertical gardens with engineering principles. Mathematics was used to calculate irrigation amounts, plant growth rates and the most appropriate planting order.

Thanks to this project, students both understood the importance of protecting biodiversity and developed sustainable solutions by bringing STEM applications to real life.

Students analyzed ecosystems in nature using scientific methods, observed the interactions of different species and created awareness on biodiversity. Data on environmental factors were collected using technology and projects were supported digitally. Sustainable environmental solutions were developed with engineering, while area measurements and growth rates were calculated with mathematics.

Throughout the event, students expressed the diversity of nature with creative art works and visuals and handcraft projects. This work both showed how STEM can be combined with real-world applications and emphasized the importance of protecting biodiversity.

While engineering created solid and aesthetic structures, mathematics was used to calculate proportions, symmetry, and dimensions.

Students scientifically analyzed the physical and chemical properties of materials and determined recyclable components. The durability and usage areas of materials transformed using technology were tested. Sustainable structures and creative designs were developed with engineering. Using mathematics, ratios and measurements were made to ensure the most efficient use of materials.

This activity demonstrated how waste can be transformed into art, the importance of STEM in developing environmentally friendly solutions, and creative ways to create recycling awareness.

This event combined innovative engineering practices with an environmental approach, allowing students to develop their design, analysis and problem-solving skills.

Students examined the physical properties of stone within the scope of material engineering and applied durability, abrasion and shaping techniques. They experienced precise cutting and detailed processing processes using appropriate tools with mechanical engineering. Thanks to structural engineering, the bearing capacity and balance of the stone were analyzed and solid designs were created.

This activity developed practical engineering skills while reinforcing students' design, analysis and problem-solving skills. It was an educational and creative study that showed how building materials and art merge with engineering!

Students discovered mathematical modeling by making applications on geometry and coordinate systems. Within the scope of analytical geometry, they learned how triangles and other shapes are expressed on the coordinate plane. In line with engineering principles, they analyzed the symmetry, proportions and transformations of shapes using geometry.

Thanks to mathematical calculations, coordinates of points were determined and relationships of lines and angles were examined on the graph. Mathematical patterns were created using digital technologies and graphics software, and students observed how STEM is intertwined with design and engineering.

Today, as part of STEM activities, my students and I explored shapes and numbers! We drew large triangles, round circles, and long rectangles. We counted objects and played matching games.

In this study, statistical analyses and applications on geometry were carried out using STEM and mathematics disciplines.

Within the scope of mathematics, graphs, pie charts and data analysis methods were examined. Percentages and ratios were calculated and different categories were compared. Data was visualized using geometry, angular relationships of shapes and measurement techniques. In line with engineering principles, editing and modeling studies were carried out to present information accurately and effectively.

Students developed their skills in interpreting statistical data and making mathematical information understandable with graphs. This study was an educational and analytical process that showed how STEM can be combined with mathematics and applied to real-world problems!

The microbit is a small, programmable electronic board used to teach the basics of programming and electronics in a fun and interactive way. It is characterized by its small size yet powerful capabilities, as it contains multiple sensors such as an accelerometer, compass, and temperature, in addition to buttons and a built-in LED display. The microbit is a great tool for supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, helping students develop logical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills through practical and innovative projects.

By using modern materials and smart technologies, we improve flight efficiency, control, and stability. With every step, we push the limits of UAV innovation and contribute to the future of aviation.

As a result of this project, amazing airplanes were built by our students. Guided by their teachers, our students worked impressively in the field of engineering. In the following periods, these airplanes took flight and presented us with beautiful scenes.

Using the microscope helped children develop focus, patience, and an appreciation for the wonders of nature. It was a playful and meaningful introduction to early science skills.

Through this collaborative and hands-on activity, children developed sensory awareness, fine motor skills, creativity, and language, while building an early understanding of how technology interacts with our senses in everyday life.

This eco-friendly activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and awareness of nature and sustainability, while supporting fine motor skills and early science learning through play.

This playful activity supported the development of early math concepts, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills, all while encouraging focus, precision, and collaboration through hands-on construction.

The project also focused on biodiversity awareness: students created stories about animals or endangered species, using their smart toy as a character that “tells” facts about biodiversity and ways to protect it. They reflected on the importance of high-quality data and discussed how bias in data can affect the reliability of AI systems.
