I am proud of how this turned out, especially considering that I struggle greatly with abstraction. If I were to do this project over again, I would focus on the shading of the tongue, and make it less of a bubble-gum pink, which really clashes with the rest of the work. I would also make parts of the heart a bit more vibrant, because the dullness in the lungs are undermined by the dull heart, and makes neither of them pop. However, the cool green tone iris is a great contrast to the warm red tones that are present throughout the entire work, and the composition really makes the eye look all over the piece, not just at one point. ]]> 2016-12-20 16:57:07 UTC https://padlet.com/rwilford1/wam5lucyhv56/wish/144495049 rwilford1 https://padlet.com/rwilford1/wam5lucyhv56/wish/144543035 My botanical piece is a hard project to talk about. I have always struggled with abstraction, as well botanical subjects, and I tried to do both in this one piece. If I had focused on one of those topics, I believe it would have been much better. That being said, the green shading of the foliage along with the harsh lines makes it look like a little kid’s coloring book. I’m not proud of this work, and I would love to grow in both my abstraction and my botanical works.
