The trench in which I fought during the war.

The trench was big of 2.50 meters and narrow. There was a walking so that we can fire at our enemies, our weapons were put on sandbags not to be too visible and in front of us, there were barbed wires. The living conditions was dreadful it was dirty, the smells of corpses, the diseases also which were present. Trenches were the only solution to protect from enemies during the war of position.

My first name is Georges, I am twenty four years old and I was called to defend my homeland during the World War I. I was married to Marie and we had two boys Léo and Jules. I survived this war and I am very proud to have defended my country.

Lucien, me and Marius

Lucien and Marius was my only friends during this war. Lucien had twenty four and Marius was twenty five years old, they were married and had children. Lucien died after one war year, he was affected by a shooting of shell and Marius survived in spite of the loss of his left leg.

The English tank.

The first time when I saw an English tank, I was impressed by their size. They were twice more tall and then I was proud to have the English as allies, they were more armed than we, we were stronger with them.

Memories of the World War I.

When the war was ended, and when we were gone bac home. I did not realize quite at once that this war was finally ended. I was proud to have survived and defended my country. I was sad because I had lost my friend during this war and I thought of all these families which lost a member of their families.
