They are in danger of extinction since 1990 because of the deforestation of the bamboo forests, that are their principal source of alimentation as it consists principally of bamboo, so they are deforesting no only their habitat but also their food. Also the illegal poaching decreases the number of pandas on the world. What is being done to keep them alive is putting under legal protection the habitat of pandas, create green corridors to help isolated pandas, patrolling against illegal poaching and building natural reserves. There is also overpopulation, that makes a lote of pollution ( because each human makes pollution by itself, and if there is more humans then there is more pollution).
