Another interesting fact I didn't know until today, is that 2/3 of the oil is located in the middle east. In this video Mayor of Calgary Naheed Nenshi stated that with the pandemic, Canada is faced with an oil crisis which can lead to an economic crisis. This has been an ongoing battle since 2014. This leads to a high rate of unemployment and the quality of living to be much more expensive. Mayor Nenshi is concerned about where they will be with the Alberta Economy. What I learned about this topic is that the great impact this will have and the rippling effect. As a child hearing about oil crisis, I didn't understand it until you start to notice little changes in your everyday life. 

2. Provide a real-life example of how this topic is relevant or interesting
for you.
I lived in Alberta in 2012-partially 2014 because my mom had got a job there, and living wise things were expensive. With the market shutting down and the pipe line issue that occurred we moved back to Ontario. Another example, early state of 2020 the gas prices were extremely low that I have ever seen at 70 cents at one point, and it increased significantly during summer. I was always curious regarding the oil industry. 

3. If you could pass on your knowledge to a family member or friend, what
do you think is the most important thing to pass on?

I would stress the importance of global footprint that gas and oil has on our planet.
