Benedict Arnold disobeyed the American patriots during the Revolutionary War, and he became the world's most famous traitor. Despite all this, Oscar Wilde argues that disobedience is the sole factor for societal advancement. He's not the only figure to ever argue for this either. Martin Luther King Jr. famously argues for "civil disobedience" when it is necessary to protect one's rights.
