Can you talk through the sheet and work through it with us in the seminar. Last week I ended up just not doing the worksheet. I struggle with the stats side of this course and with the next available stats help desk appointment not till the end of next week, I think some extra help and guidance for those not confident enough or overwhelmed to work through the sheet alone, would be greatly beneficial. Especially seeing as we can't have someone physically walk over and check or work through it with friends.

whilst researching, I've found an article with almost the exact same experimental design as the one I plan upon using including the same adjusted IV's and measured DV's, however this article was on professional sportsmen whilst my sample would be amateurs, additionally this article found results that are contrary to those the literature would normally expect (surprisingly found caffeine detrimental to sporting performance at 5mg.kg). personally i feel these factors warrant further research but was wondering if for the purposes of this assignment Would these factors be considered enough of gap in the literature to justify this?

Doesn't a t-test require two groups? i will only be using one group, testing them twice with supplement and placebo over two different sessions, analysing the effect of the supplement. So wouldn't i just use simple regression to analyse how much of an effect that supplement has on performance?

Upon further research after previously having quizzed the lab technicians about availability of a force plate to measure punching force i have discovered this particular device only uses arbitrary units. as its a bit too late to restart my entire coursework project and planning could I just pretend for the purposes of the coursework this is not the case? or should I instead just reference the normal biomechanics force plate and say a form of cushioning was added but not cite what kind of cushioning?

Reporting factorial ANOVA's

Do we need to report the mean difference and confidence intervals or just the F (x,x) = x, P =x, n2p = x. Also i cant find any written examples of the reporting of independent, RM and mixed factorial ANOVA's. It says see examples on ELE but where are these searched everywhere. thanks

if VIF is used to check for no multi-colinearity of predictors, are there name of the test for the other three assumptions?

if the MAIN EFFECT is asked, must it be between subject effects rather than within subject effects? also, in the Tests of Between-Subjects Effect table, there is a row named intercept, should this row be ignored when interpreting results?

if it asks the problems of the experimental design, where do we find the answers from? In slides of week 3 video 6 there is some problems like the placebo effect or demand characteristics, are we expected to pull 3 problems of out these? Are there anywhere else where we can pull the answer out of?

for 2 there should be 1 null hypothesis right? Then for 3, would there be 1: there is no difference between a,b and c or 3 null hypothesis: there is no difference between a and b, between b and c, a and c. So the answer should be either 3 or 5?
