  • Greeting- is the first aspect of a face to face contact-start off with a smile, than verbal greetings in order (based on how well you know eachother)
  • Physical Contact- men shake hands, women hug. 
  • Eye contact- shows interest in what the other is saying- staring to long is rude
  • Personal Space- distance between two people is generally set by there culture. People from south america are more comfortable at closer distances than persons from the north. 
  • Interrupting- generally considered rude when one cuts off another’s speech.

    • Welcome new neighbours with a plant or dessert.
    • Go to their house to meet them.
    • Check on sick and elderly neighbours 
    • Offer guests in your home drinks.
    • If a neighbour has had any type of surgery or have had a death in the family, organise within the neighbourhood for each household to take turns on preparing  dinner for the family in need.
