Usually we should think at least a formative and a summative assessment.

Since the publication of Italian Key Competences of 2007. new efforts were made to adapt the Italian educative system to competence based education. Italian ministry published many guide lines for primary, middle and secondary school. Nowadays almost all teachers here know about competence-based education and even if there are many colleagues still resistant to this approach, the majority is almost forced to plan general activities in this way. I think that in Italy we have made a sort of mediation between the content-based education and the competence-based one. Here we think that contents are still really important, but each discipline allow us to work on competences using subject's contents.
