In Egypt 5,000 BCE, Gold was found all over within their jewelry. Gold in jewelry is a common occurrences that happens all around the world from past to present.  This precious metal was not only used for jewelry, but it was also used for the  metal has been used for currency as well. In 700 B.C, a society called the Lydians who lived in the Asia Minor produced the first currency with gold. Their coins or “lumps” had 63% of gold used in their currency. As time when on these civilizations began to use Gold as their type of currency, in which the U.S dollar in the past was backed by gold.  People have been using the precious metal as far back as 5,000 BCE and being used by multiple civilizations. Also too this day, this metal is in our newly found inventions etc...
