How does this object of study fit within the concept of thresholds of increasing complexity?

Gold fits within the new chemical elements threshold(threshold 3). That is because when stars die they reach 10 million Celsius then does nuclear fusion and that form new elements with hydrogen and helium. Also another threshold is threshold 8, Expansion and innerconnection which gold helps increasing complexity by being a type of currency and a type of resource to trade which helped societies and civilizations interconnect. Another threshold which fits the concept of gold is Threshold , the Gold Rush. With the Gold Rush, California underwent a transformation. Also the Gold Rush helped the explosion of the mining machinery and hydraulic operations. So the Gold Rush helped technology advance due to the discovery of gold in California.
