Hi everyone! My name is Imaya (E-maya), hopefully that can help with pronunciation. Before I get into major and career goals, I decided I would talk about why I chose starry night and a louts flower. Starry night has always been my favorite painting. I look at it and feel at ease. I hope it could bring some comfort to you all. Now louts flowers have always have a special place in my heart. For those who don't know louts flowers grow in the dark and in the dirtiest of waters. Yet it blooms so bright and so beautiful. And like a louts flower, I too have the ability to rise from the mud and bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world. Now I am currently a third year. I am currently majoring in psychology. I do plan on getting my masters after I have achieved my bachelors degree. I hope to be a student counselor. Not sure of for which grade level yet but as of right not I do not have a preference. I love coffee! Matter of fact I work at Dutch bros! I love meeting new people and making friends. Ice cream is the way to my heart. I also love watching movies and often quote from movies. I honestly am into a ton of things and don't limit myself to interests. I am excited to meet you all and cannot wait to see what this course has in store for us.

What does sustainability mean to me? I see it as adapting to new ways of living in order to help our environment and even help us make a better lifestyle. Little things that can make a difference are using recycle bins, taking shorter showers, and turning off lights when they are not in use. I hope to learn a bit more about sustainability. I believe it is a very important topic and want to know how else we can all contribute.

Information literacy is how we take in information and where we look to find credible sources. I believe, I might be wrong. However, if that is the case I think information literacy is important because we need to be questioning all sources. We need to know how to navigate reliable sources past all of the social media platforms. I want to learn how to correctly find credible sources along with knowing how to recognize what sources are not reliable.

Thank you! :)

The topic I chose is fitness and it's correlation to mental health. Of course this falls under the social pillar. I recently have dedicated time to exercising and on my mental health. It has honestly help me discover who I am and helped with my anxiety. My targeted group for this topic is college students. A lot of stress, anxiety and even depression can stems from the pressure of being a college student. However, many of us do not know how to properly distress. Which can lead to unhealthy distractions or unhealthy behaviors. There are many solutions to help those who can relate to difficulties of being a college students. One being exercising or staying fit. This can help with self-love and can be self-awarding due to eating feel good food, taking a run, hiking enjoying the outdoors, finishing planned workouts and doing simple stretches. It is important to me that college students learn that they can take care of their psychical and mental health all through fitness/exercising. I understand how it feels going to classes, fearing I won't graduate, worried about money, and the overload of homework. And honestly, working out has helped with getting my feelings out and appreciating a lot more than I used to. I hope to learn more benefits from working out, and what is a more effective method. As well as if there are indeed a hand full of students who struggle with their mental health and how staying healthy can benefit them.
