First off, the entire book is based on the British School boys who become stranded on the island by themselves. These boys would be on the “Weak” side of society back home, relying on their parents to care for them, and make most of their major decisions. Once they land on the island, they are forced to fend for themselves and the hierarchy of boys quickly take their places along the islands social ladder. At first they decide on a democracy with Ralph as its leader, but this quickly falls through. The boys quickly turn to savagery and this brings destruction to the island and its people.

From the start, Jack and his crew of hunters have wanted the power over the island. They even go as far as killing for it. They are the Strong at the end of the book. The littluns on the other hand, they are the weakest on the island and represent the complete opposite of Jack and his crew. They lounge around and play in the water.
