1. The school has implemented a school-wide ticket system. Students can be given these pink slips by anyone on campus, even janitors, when they are caught exhibiting one of the four eagle excellence attributes. The teacher checks which attribute the student exhibited and at the end of the week a cart comes around and students can turn in their tickets and "purchase" various items.
2. All staff has gold coins that can be distributed for any reason. These coins then go to the student's classroom and they are collected to work toward a class reward such as a: pizza party, stem activity, ice cream, etc. This helps foster community and working together for a common goal.

A monthly meeting is held where parents are encouraged to attend and share improvements they would like to see at the school, things they love at the school, etc. I teacher from each grade level is present to answer or ask questions. A flyer is sent out to all homes.
2. A chat-a-latte is held once a month in the office and it is with the principal. She provides coffee, donuts, and pastries and invites any parents who would like to attend to come and voice anything they would like to voice about the school and offers feedback. She also lets them know about opportunities for helping or becoming more involved in school activities and any upcoming events. She will also ask for parent input on current topics.

1. When discussing a student of RCELD the instructional team should have all information pertaining to the student on deck: CUM folder, assessments, absences, family situation, who the student is living with and where, etc. It is important to look at all the factors that could be contributing to a negative impact on a student's classroom instruction. Once the facts are there it makes planning to support the student more successful.
2. Home visits are something that schools don't do enough anymore. I think when you go to a person's home you understand them better and they also get the message that you are very invested in their child. Students need to be regularly attending school and we need to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
3. A system for rewarding attendance would be amazing as well.

1. I would like to see students engage in having international pen pals. The internet and Skype make the possibilities endless.
2. I would love to find time throughout the year to celebrate other cultures with music, décor, demonstrations, food. It would be neat to have a Culture Night at the school, in the cafeteria. Different stations could be set up with student representatives on deck to answer questions or maybe share how to count to ten in their language. I think students would really enjoy it as well as families. It gives us an opportunity to learn about their cultures and celebrate them.
3. In general, everyday, I would love it if we could explore other cultural heroes or include literature about things other than "Hot American Topics/History." There is so much going on in the world that we have yet to explore and we are the ones missing out.
4. Classroom walls need to scream diversity.
