The Man vs. Horse marathon is a race of over 35 km in which runners compete against riders on horseback. They run through forests, hills, and trails. The goal of this unique sport is to determine if a human can outrun a horse over a long-distance course. The race takes place every June in a small town in Wales. This tradition began in 1980 after a pub owner overheard two men in his pub discussing whether a person could outrun a horse over a long distance. He got curious and decided that this challenge should be tested. So far, a human has won the marathon only four times. I believe that a person who wants to compete in this sport needs to have incredible stamina, strong legs, and be resilient to endure the challenging race.

This unique sport dates back from the XIX century to this day. It takes place in Cooper’s Hill near Gloucester, England. Every year people from all around the town and country gather on top of the hill and try to catch a Double Gloucester cheese rolling from the top to the bottom. There aren’t any particular skills you need to win the prize. The earned prize is quite simple- the cheese you catch yourself. Being brave and having an ability to stay balanced is everything you need. However, due to injuries people get during participation, some people argue that this should’t even be considered a sport.

The objective is for one player to move their heads so that the band slips from their opponents ears or causes it to break. I believe that a person who wants to compete in this sport needs to have strong pain tolerance, be mentaly preparded, have a strategy when to apply pressure.
