Residents in Antioch, California will have the opportunity to discuss with the city leaders and developers about the old waterfront dirt lot that's been there for 50 years. In the past the community have fought against multi-level housing and development to be done on the lot. The community aren't against housing however they would like to build meaningful gathering place for the community. The city is still planning to construct anything in that lot to expand their downtown area and increase foot traffic like how the neighboring cities have done.

This article showed me that cities in the Bay Area are still trying to expand and becoming more urban. I am honestly surprised that the city of Antioch are looking for community input because when I lived in the bay area, I never really heard about cities meeting with the community to provide input on developments. This planning project is very interesting to me because I would really like for the waterfront lot becomes a beautiful community gathering space that resembles the waterfront of Seattle. This does affect me because I would love to see what the residents and the city agree on building.
