This promotional image for the USA Network TV Drama "Suits" is a perfect example of Emphasis. The very first thing the eye is drawn to is the face of the man, and this was clearly the designer's intention. The majority of the image is null and void, full of empty space. However in the image there is a centered piece of sudden bright colors on top of the image of the man. Due to it being centered and contrasting heavily with the background, the eye cannot help but be drawn to it.

This image is a perfect depiction of movement, because of the way it triggers basic instinct. Due to the way the "wings" on the "birds" are angled, our minds naturally work out the direction they are heading comparable to a bird or plane in real life. This causes the human eye to drift from left to right across the image, following the path the designer presumably intended our eyes to take.

This is a great example of rhythm in three different cases. The common shape of the rectangles repeated over each other repeatedly in a collage is a repetition of said rectangles. The shape that looks like a splat of fluid is also repeated in a similar manner, creating rhythm without necessarily mirroring itself by rotating. The tear drops do appear to be identical as well, repeating in a rhythm while also rotating themselves just like their larger counterparts.

This design by artist and graphic designer Sebastion Onufszak contains a wide variety of elements and principles of graphic design. Firstly, it contains shape. This is the most obvious, with the letters warping into all sorts of natural and geometric shapes, as well as the drawings in the center. Second would be lines. The letters themselves follow some oval shaped patterns as if drawn along a line around the center, and within the letters horizontal and diagonal lines can be seen with varying thickness. Thirdly, the image has color, and a lot of it. The colors come from all parts of the color wheel, and mix together smoothly. Some spots are especially smooth, such as the top left corner, where complimentary colors yellow and purple are placed alongside each other. Fourth, you can see value in the image. The purple word "DIE" on the left is a great example, with a lighter hue of purple at the top of the letter D than the bottom of it, but maintaining purple as the sole color in the letter.

This image is an excellent example of many principles and elements of design working well together. Color is implemented through complimentary colors (the green and red), and value of colors (the different shades and tints of green present in the clouds and background). Space is implemented in both a positive and negative form. The castle itself is the positive space while the monochromatic background forms the negative space. Shapes are evident in the image, mostly geometric in the structure of the castle but some natural shapes are present in the clouds and tops of some towers. Lines are present throughout the entire image, but the most notable use would be the dashed lines below the clouds, presumably representing rain.

It is comprised of just two colors (and white, which is technically a hue of both blue and red) and is just a simple circle with a natural shape of white in it.
