Video #2 - What Are Stocks?

The video attached below goes over the basic concept of what a stock is. it breaks it down and discusses how investors buy shares in a company and how shares can mature over time with the the success of a company. in the case the initial investment made by each investor was $10,000 ad after 5 years these investments were worth $100,000! Talk about a good investment!

I chose this video on stocks because it helps one to understand stocks by breaking it down into a real life situation that a person could find themselves in. It explains how shares are broken up and how an investment can mature and be worth more even after just a few years.

Video #3 - What Are Bonds and How do They Work?

The video attached below goes over bonds. First by explaining what a bond is and then by explaining how they work. When a company or government needs money the solution is to raise the money by issuing bonds. Investors then lends a portion of the amount needed, a bond is nothing more than a loan where the investor is the lender and the company or government is the borrower.

I chose this video on bonds and how they work because it does a good job at simplifying what a bond is. In a short video it tells you how the bonds are created, how they work, how the interest is paid, and how you are paid back. It makes the idea of a bond easier to understand and does it efficiently.

This site explains what a bond is and the different types of bonds there are. They are a loan made by a lender to a borrower. The borrower is obligated to pay the loan back with interest to the lender after a certain period of time. Bonds are securities but they are not the same as stocks because with a stock, the stockholders have a equity stake in the company.

I chose this site because it thoroughly explains what a bond is and helps further ones understanding how they work and what to expect when dealing with them.
