Glass is made from smelting sand, which is the most environmentally-friendly practice. Aluminum is produced by mining the material, which slowly releases carbon into the atmosphere. Lastly, plastic is produced from re-used raw materials -- some of which are not replenishable. Second off, materials can also be used in harmful ways, not just production. Glass is used in no harmful way, because it is constantly being reused. Aluminum and plastic may have slightly worse effects while being used, but it does not have as bad effects of the disposal. When plastic is disposed, it is unable to be broken down in the environment, so it fills up the landfill. This causes more areas to be converted into landfills, which contributes greatly to pollution. Disposing of aluminum can be done on many ways, you can recycle it so it gets melted down into something else.
