Have you ever been treated badly without doing anything to deserve it? It is a complicated situation, but we are tested daily for stressful and unpleasant situations that test our patience and our endurance. This can happen at work, at school, at home, in the neighborhood and even in the church. People offend you when you least expect it without having done anything.

What will you do in such situation?

What is the right way to deal when people cause us harm?

Feel free to express your thoughts here.

Yes, I have been treated badly by a friend. I felt so bad cos it was an ugly experience I don't always want to remember. After a long time of sobbing over the experience, I decided to let go but deep down in my mind I knew I never forgave my friend. Years passed over the issue, we were still friends but i unexpectedly react negatively to her because of the ugly incident that happened between us. After so much grieve in my heart and I saw that my unforgivable act has began to affect my relationship with other people, I decided to call and express my displeasure on the issue and why she treated me badly. We had a long discussion on the issue and settled.
When you are being treated badly without doing anything to deserve it, talk about it and ensure you settle it so that you don't hold grief in your mind towards the person.

In life, we meet different kinds of people, it is therefore expected that we consciously learn to treat people as they want to be treated. If someone treats me badly, I check within me to ensure I was not the cause for his/her actions and I make amends where necessary. Additionally, I try to express how I feel to the fellow concerned that's if I can else I let go and forgive. If it requires me to keep my distance from a negative person, I will also do that. On my part, I ensure I follow peace with all men just as it has been clearly stated in the bible.

One... address it. Let it be known to the person that you are hurt. It depicts maturity. No matter who the person is. Young or old. One will device a strategy to use in addressing if the person is older.
Once its addressed, there is a relieve of heaviness of heart and there is peace.
Sometimes in trying to resolve or address it, the other person creates more fracas than necessary so play the sane and matured one.

I've been treated badly by friends, lovers and even elderly ones. I try to communicate my feelings as best as I can to them. I try to trash out the issues with those that are willing to settle the matter, and I let go of the ones that are not willing, either by keeping quiet whenever they want to put up their act inorder to let peace reign, or by keeping my distance with such person. I always want to make peace with everybody.

I have been treated badly alot of times by people, many atimes it's as a result of assumption or misunderstanding..These people includes friends, colleagues and even family members...
My first reaction is that I cry because I feel the pain right in my heart ,then I pray about it ...sometimes I confront the situation and many times I let it sly especially when I know that person will never own up to errors and it will aggravate more issues...
I stay away for a while because I'm still hurt...I begin to intentionally do that person good so it will help my forgiveness process faster....I ensure I do good to that person even if it's to render help...sometimes my help is thrown at my face and I get hurt again but I stay at it....

I think putting ourselves in the other person's position would help us visualise or understand what could have brought about that response/attitude, doing so would help you not to be angry and also give you peace. This is not to say we do not have people who are naturally toxic but my advice would be to avoid such people but when situation is such that people like that can't be avoided, see yourself as the sane one in which case one can be termed 'stupid' for one's peace and sanity to remain intact.

Being the type of person that I am, I will bear my mind in ways possible for the person or people to know they had done me harm, we talk about it if they will and sincerely, I move on. I do not allow any one to have tenancy in my heart. I only pray the person/people does not hold any grudge because sincerely I would not be too bothered but would pray for the person to understand better.

It is only human to feel offended. Yes, I have been treated badly by people but I know they have reasons whether genuine or not for behaving in such a manner. I always try to address the issue and move on. I try to look for a very good opportunity when the person is a lot calmer and then explain myself. I do this because I know that I have also misunderstood others at different times.

Many people treat me badly but I just ignore them, sometimes tell someone I trust or just pray that the situation will get better. Violence is not the best way to respond to a situation like this. Also, letting the person know their wrong could also help them to improve.

I have been treated badly, misjudged and misunderstood and used to react according to the way I was treated. At the end of the day no body learns situation remains the same. In recent times I have come to realize that people go around with baggages and don't even know. That's why hurting people will hurt others. One way to help such people is to respond and not react. See things from their perspective. Understand them rather than insisting they understand you. It's excellent for your mental health. Even the Bible teaches us to accept the wrong for peace sake. I have come to discover that when you do that the truth will be revealed.

In this journey of life, we will meet people who will either deliberately or unconsciously hurt us, treat us badly either because they are jealous, they just want a way to make us feel bad or by mistake. Either way, our attitude should be that nothing is worth taking our joy and we will not give anyone the satisfaction of spoiling our day. Though it might be very painful and we might feel like getting back but the truth is that we will not be truly happy even with revenge. We will experience peace and joy in our heart if we make a choice to forgive, let go and learn from the experience. With that we will not be carrying heavy baggage that can hinder our personal progress because bitterness impacts negatively on mental health and consequently on productivity.
