Key raw materials should be sourced from location that is closer from the manufacturing plant to lessen the lead time. Also, this could reduce carrying costs of inventories and provide easy and fast access in case there will be a sudden increase in demand. This will minimize opportunity lost and help the company satisfy the requirements of the customers.

It's balancing the choices of bulk orders, time sensitivity, and agility. Until now, I refer to that experience when I encounter similar situations.
