Lollapalooza first began as a multi-city tour led by Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell in 1991. The event permanently remained in Chicago in 2005. Though, the event was originally 2 days it was eventually stretched to a 4 day period in 2016. The festival is located in Grant Park Chicago. The festival celebrates different artists from the music industry.

Lollapalooza began as a multicity venue tour for Perry Farrell's bands farewell tour. In 2005, the destination festival was set in Chicago. The two-day format was such a success that a third day was added for 2006, and Lollapalooza became an annual event. In 2016 a fourth day was added to the festival. Now the festival attracts some 200,000 attendees and brings money into small businesses in the city.
