I've ended up doing some "conditioning" on my dog which has been interesting to observe. When he runs off, I call him back make him sit and give him a biscuit but it was always in the same area of the field. After about 6 walks he got to a point where he would just sit in the same spot and expect a treat and it amazes me how it works! Carl Jung's introvert/extrovert theory; the working memory theories; and overall the 4 different kinds of psychology including behavioural, psychoanalytical, cognitive and humanistic. I have a mini bit of past experience and knowledge regarding the psychodynamic and cognitive aspects of psychology, so it was great to read more about about the behavioural and humanistic fields of study too. 

Similar to what someone else previously mentioned, it would be great to know more about leading/modern schools of thought regarding psychology and how they have had to adapt within the digital age. Additionally, has anything or will anything supersede existing forms of therapy such as psychoanalysis and cognitive behavioural therapy?

I opted for the latter because the emphasis is on care and compassion. Which is not always the case in psychology! It's interesting to consider the ethical framework of some of the approaches and to question what the various disciplines are used for and the methods by which they came to their knowledge. Psychological techniques have been and still are used for all manner of things, some to our benefit and some to our detriment (torture techniques, advertising, control). I look forward to finding ways to use these methods compassionately in nursing and my personal life.
