His act of resistance was escaping from Auschwitz; he did it with his friend, Alfred Wetzler the night of April 7 1944. They escaped by hiding in a hollowed out wooden area that was stored to build something. The hiding spot got them out of the outside perimeter. They’re fellow prisoners put a strong smelling tobacco substance to drive away the guard dogs. This ensured their safety as they were escaping, so the Dogs would not come after them. After this they went to a safe house to hide and change their names.

The impact was that many other Jews decided to try to escape like Vrba and his friend did. They're action led to a chain reaction of actions that ultimately led to many other Jews escaping concentration camps. In the camp he was in he caused a total of 928 prisoners attempted to escape, however not all because of him.

It was called the Vrba-Wetzler report. I could not find any information about were the document is, but I believe it is at a museum.
