It was obvious how much she loved being at Lincoln!


She would sometimes tell me that she would share songs and stories from her own childhood with the kids (most recently some Peter Paul + Mary), and I know she treasured being part of a school community that valued those kinds of connections.

She found the best ways to educate and entertain children while welcoming families with warmth and kindness. I always had conversations with her about child development, ages and stages and milestones among our students! She made a difference with her curious and creative mind, her patience, love and care with ages 0-5. Oh and "The amazing MASKS" during covid was the highlight! This occupation was curated for her and we can only acknowledge the beauty she brought to the profession! Congratulations Auntie! Enjoy your retirement! You have certainly earned it!

A teacher who cares: you still check in with Lucy: asking her questions, catching up and always remembering what she’s been up to and what her evolving passions are. A teacher who connects: where would we be in all of our moves if we didn’t have you to share with us all the wonders of each of the many neighborhoods on the East Side! Everyone has a story of their favorite teacher and you are that for Lucy and even for me, her mother. You set the standard which seemed impossible to meet and yet it has for all the incredible teachers that have followed. With gratitude so heartfelt, we wish you the very best in this next stage: a life that continues to be full of wonder, curiosity and joy-everything you have given to us ❤️
