The map of The Botanical Gardens assisted us in working out the best location for lunch, we needed easy access for car parking and to be able to get the 80 plus packed lunches to an area located within the gardens also easy accessible to toilet facilities.

From an educational and Transdisciplinary Thematic link, the viewing of the gardens inspired us to think about flora and fauna, the first owners of the land and what the area looked like prior to settlement, etc.

ENGAGING- aesthetically pleasing environment that stimulates creativity, thinking and geographical connections.

SIGNIFICANT-It is located in a traditional, and easily accessible part of Sydney. Much history is shared via plaques, an excellent website, and rangers who can provide extra information.

RELEVANT- A resource that is always relevant in the understanding of our environment and from the perspective of past encounters and life to what it is like now- HISTORY

CHALLENGING- SO much happened in this area historically. How and what would we choose for students to learn from an experience here?
