The appeal of the G.O.L.E. program is that it connects aspects of the Vincentian Mission to our increasing obligations as members of a global society. As an instructor of Comparative Philosophy, Language and Literature with a specialization in building Learning Communities, I love the prospect of building bridges through educational outreach and teaching the next generation about perspectives they might not get otherwise. I'm Em! I'm a professor of education here at SJU. My research focuses on learning and entrepreneurship. I also teach in the Discover Italy program at the School of Education. We offer the spring-semester program to UG education majors. It provides a chance to study in Rome on our Rome campus and teach in local elementary, middle, and high schools during the semester. I teach four education-related courses on campus and supervise students in the four schools where we volunteer. I'm also very interested in language learning. I study Mandarin and Italian now.
