I remember English classes under Mr. Walsh and Mr. Reveille so well, but especially our Humanities Seminar with Paul Chancellor. That combination set me on my life's work in writing and editing, from newspaper work to magazine writing and editing, and in recent years to book writing.

The Hill is at the heart of so many of my life's brightest moments, from the pride of giving a chapel talk and holding a diploma, to getting married in the alumni chapel and bringing my son to his first L'ville weekend in a baby H sweater. The Hill has always been a safe space to learn and to land, surrounded by a community of spectacular friends, teachers, and colleagues. There is no place quite like our city on the hill.

25 years of memories!

Late night conversations in the dormitories. Performing at the CFTA and at the national Trebles competition in Florida. Sharing in cups of tea while debating philosophers with Doc. G. Lunches in the Dining Hall. Jumping into the Dell. So many memories.

It's been 25 years since I attended Hill during the first year of coeducation, and became one of the first 13 women to graduate. I will never forget those experiences inside and outside the classroom walls, the friendships I formed, and the faculty who inspired us all<-- many I still keep in touch with 25 years later! To all of my former classmates and other fellow alumni and alumnae, please join me today on this Blue Gray Day in making a donation to Hill. Together we will help to inspire the next generation. Congratulations to the Class of 2024! Although you are graduating, this is only the beginning of your lifelong membership in The Hill School Alumni Association. I encourage you to stay connected to one another, stay involved with the school, and remember that no matter how much time passes or where your journey may take you, it's never too late to reignite your Hill Ties. As a member of the Class of 2004, I expect to see every single one of you back on campus in 2029 for your 5th Reunion - we'll both have much to celebrate. Best Teachers Ever

Just about every student of my era at The Hill (1966-1970) still talks from the heart about Lloyd Tuttle, director of vocal music, best known as, simply, "The King." Many teachers helped me climb the peaks and valleys of the then more stoic school, but none with the love and care of Mr. Tuttle. He always encouraged me no matter what, but was brilliant at loving me and telling me I was wrong at the same time. Without him and his wife Judy, I would surely not have made it through. Speaking for Jim Hutchinson, Brian Beirne, and just about every student who crossed Lloyd's path, he is "The Best Teacher Ever." So on Blue-Gray Day 2024, let's celebrate BTE too!
