         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Initial lesson plan was based in a primary school, with a class of year 1 students ages 5 and 6. We will be conducting a 1 hour outdoor science lesson based on plants and the life cycle of plants as this is heavily corresponding with the national curriculum for this age group. <br><br></div><div>Lesson Objectives:<br>To develop scientific knowledge, skills and understanding of the topic. <br><br>To create an interactive experience of a real-world environment.<br><br>To observe the world around them and what is happening to the plants and learn from this.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Facilitating Discussion - Peter</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Keeping the same and encouraging: </div><ul><li> Encouraging the children to answer questions, such as, how do plants grow? Why is important to water plants? What tools and resources are required to allow plants to grow?</li><li> Ask the children questions such as, what are they doing in this activity? What can they see? What have they learnt about the life cycle of plants?</li></ul><div><br>Adapting:</div><ul><li> At the end of the lesson, students will be split up into groups to discuss the positive and negative aspects of the lesson. Discussing what parts of the lessons they enjoyed, parts of the lesson they did not like as much, and to pick out one interesting fact they had learnt from participating in the lesson.</li><li>Set pupils out into groups and assign roles within the groups so each student has something specific to work on, whether it be watering the plant or planting the seeds. This will encourage and improve students communication skills and active listening skills, which are both key facilitation skills.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Keeping the same and encouraging:</div><ul><li>Getting the children to use iPads to take photos of what they have done during the lesson. </li><li>Giving the children a worksheet so they can discuss what they have learned throughout the lesson. </li></ul><div><br></div><div>Adapting:</div><ul><li>Involving the child’s parents/carers into their assessment process by sharing the work the children have done on tapestry which is an online journal where teachers can record all work children do and share with parents so they can see the progress their child makes.</li><li>With the use of tapestry it means that teachers can analyse the students work and to track which children need the most support in the upcoming lessons.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
