 The author purpose is warn us how social media is harmful and affecting on  our generation and also he is trying to say 
…That tiktok company is trying hard to stop this issue by banning accounts , stopping advertising for weight loss app 

Evidence: 

1-the company had taken steps to address the issue by banning ads for fasting apps and weight-loss supplements (paragraph 6) 

2- As soon as this issue was brought to our attention, we took action banning the accounts and removing the content that violated those guidelines, as well as banning particular search terms (paragraph 10) (marsh,2020)

The purpose of the author is to outline the danger that approached people on tiktok in form of harmful diets made up by many users in order to achieve fame and it was considered fatal by the experts and may cause death or serious nutrition disorders.

2)The author’s tone is informative, as he mentioned that the company needs to apply more regulations also the author is a bit aggressive as he described the findings as “deeply disturbing”

3)I infered that for almost as long as tiktok has existed, so too have pro-eating disorder communities: blogs, groups, and forums where users share stories and photos related to disordered eating and body image. Some members promote more dangerous behavior, like encouraging extreme diets or dissuading people from getting help.
