         <description><![CDATA[<p>Gendered items (toys and clothes) from before a person is born - often embellished with gender stereotypes (trains and cars vs unicorns and flowers / colours). Must make it very hard to move away from that if it doesn’t feel that it fits. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>So many gender stereotypes were common parlance when I was growing up. They seem so deep rooted that it can be really difficult to stop using them because they are repeated almost involuntarily. </p><p><br/></p><p>A big one was my dad always assumed all bad drivers were women. I used to look at drivers when they were frustrating me to see their gender but I think it was reinforcing the stereotype as if it was a man I’d assume they were somehow the exception so I now I try not to look and remind myself that who they are doesn’t matter!</p>]]></description>

So much implicit messages that as women/girls we should adapt ourselves to better suit males. Waiting on them, tidying up after them, the bulk of domestic duties ontop of working responsibilities. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It's easier for girls to engage with 'boys toys' than it is for boys to play with 'girls toys' perhaps because we value 'male' traits more? E.g. we encourage girls to be mechanics but not many boys are encouraged to be ballerinas </p>]]></description>
