Hello! My name is Jill Ritchie and I currently teach sixth grade language arts and math at Notre Dame Middle School in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. This is my 11th year teaching and I am excited to be taking this course as a part of my master's program. The provided picture reminds me that we, teachers and students, are all different. We learn different, we grow different, and our backgrounds are different. However, we come together to form our own family (or garden). None of us are perfect on the outside, but we are all capable of growing and learning no matter the circumstances.

Hello! My name is Brianna Rider and I teach kindergarten at St. Charles in Chippewa Falls, WI. This is my fifth year teaching. I am looking forward to learning about everything this course has to offer as a part of my master's program. After reviewing the picture, I immediately thought of fall. As seasons change, so do our students. I love watching my students grow physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually throughout the course of the year. The amount of knowledge they pick up in nine months astounds me.

How the pictures relates to me is that even though squash begins life the same, they can be very different. Different varieties, colors, shapes, sizes, uses, etc. So too are teachers and their students. Different personalities, different strengths and weaknesses, different teaching and learning styles, etc. Even though there are these many differences, both teachers and students can learn from each other, teach other, and help each other become a caring individual.

My name is Jennifer Rubenzer. I teach seventh and eighth grade math at Notre Dame Middle School in Chippewa Falls, WI. This is my 21st year of teaching middle school at Notre Dame. I have four grown children and 5 grandchildren. I grew up in this area and love the people in this community. I have been a mentor teacher form 15 years and would love to learn new ways to help our new teachers. There are several new teachers this year and I want to manage my time better so as to be available when they may need help. This is especially important at the beginning of the year.
As I look at the pictures of squash and gourds, I think of our teaching staff. Everyone has different qualities that make them a good instructor. Some teachers are known for their bumps ( they have an outgoing personality) or smooth sides ( they are quieter and lead by example). They are discolored (older with a lot of experience) or one color ( younger, just learning .)
I also want to help all teachers in their quest to teach students about the Catholic faith , why it is important, and help them develop a relationship with Jesus.

Hello all! My name is Bekka Beaufeaux. I currently teach art to Kindergarten to fifth grade students at St. Charles Borromeo and Holy Ghost Schools. I also teach music to Kindergarten through Second grade at St. Charles school. I was interested in this course because I believe in building positive working relationships with all in our schools and school system. It's always a pleasure sharing information, and I feel the need to futher inform myself on the roal of becoming a 'Mentor' to others. As those who know me understand, I love the season of Fall. The image struck me as interesting and relating to both my teaching style and my students in a few ways: We are all different, share certain aspects, show our colors in interesting ways, and can bring joy to those around us. I love gardening and this year my own pumkins, gords, and other viners have really taken off! I hope that this continues into my school year as well.

Hi everyone! My name is Brittany Canfield. I currently teach high school at McDonell in Chippewa Falls. Before teaching high school, I taught middle school at Notre Dame (the middle school attached to McDonell). A new position became available and I took the chance to grow as a professional. I was interested in this course because I would love to be able to share what I know to another professional in my field in the most effective way. Becoming a mentor to another teacher is a big deal for me. I want to be a teacher that someone else can come to when they need help. I would have to say the image relates to my students and I because we act as a "family." We are similar but we are also different. Sometimes, we have many things in common and other times we have very little in common.

Hi there! I'm Greta Jorgensen, and this is somewhere around my 15th year of teaching. I am currently in my second year at McDonell High School teaching science. Prior to that I have a few years experience in middle school, four years teaching at the college level, and over 10 years at the high school level. High school is my favorite, I absolutely love this age group. I am taking this course because I have been a mentor teacher many times, but really have not had any formal training in that area. I want to be a resource for my peers, and I want to be able to help other teachers love their experience in the classroom. I believe in lifelong learning, and even as an experienced teacher, I can always find ways to improve. This picture brings me warmth. There is something about the fall colors that is so comforting against the backdrop of the weather getting colder. I think about the fall bringing us together and getting to know one another while winter creeps up on us. I think of all of the different kinds of individuals in my classroom are like the fall colors, all beautiful, all a little different.
