         <description><![CDATA[<div> “Letter from Birmingham Jail” is written in response to criticism of nonviolent protests in Birmingham, Alabama in April 1963. This letter begins by describing  local clergymen with “genuine goodwill” and acknowledges sincerity of their concern.  Tone of reasonable  focus on religion, rights, injustice and equality shows respect for all.  This writing emphasizes a direct action for peaceful resisting of racism.</div>]]></description>
