I feel that so many Jews participated in the Warsaw ghetto uprising because they wanted to show other people held up in ghettos that no matter what the odds were that they could stand a chance and make their marks known to the Nazis and to show them that together, the Jews could cause some serious harm. In my opinion their resistance did matter because they caused the Germans to retreat once even though they were severely outnumbered and out gunned and to also give other ghettos the reinforcement that they can do the same and have a chance of setting themselves free.

Rob Smart
