I see that there are people on a bridge, caught in the rain. They look surprised by the rain, because they're hunched over and using their hats and shirt to protect themselves. It looks like a period in time that is historical, not like modern day Japan.
2. I notice how the colors at the top of the painting turn into a dark gray to emphasize the storm with a cloud. Also, the angle at which the painting is painted allows the viewer to see the water, people, supports for the bridge, city, and activities occurring in the body of water. This POV is definitely intentional to give the viewer setting and makes the painting more complex.
3. "Sudden Shower" helps to solidify that the people were caught off guard by the rain, also "Shin-Ohashi Bridge and Atake" gives the viewer a setting.
