For the floors I would like stained wood and the rugs have different pattern designs but some have to be a fuzzy soft texture and the others a little bit rougher when your feet touch the patterns. I love plants so this image of the rug above is what I'm kind of looking for in my dream home. I would like rugs around my whole wooden floor house. I like having a wooden floor and then in some main areas like the living room dressing it up with a rug. This rug would match the aesthetic of leaves and nature. The shape would have to cover the majority of the living room or least in front of the couches so about 9ft by 12ft if a big living room. The texture is soft but rough at the same time. The rug itself is soft but when it comes to the outlining of the leaves, it's rough. There is going to be a big fruit tree in the front yard and around it is going to be rocks surrounding it in a pattern. Its subject and content meaning is a story telling an “Apsáalooke woman in a traditional dress…holding her baby. To Pease, flowers represent divinity and beauty in many religions” (UCChicago). I would want to hang this beautiful work of art in my dream house because me being Native American I feel it connects to me in a special way. To me the painting reminds me of my culture and my people. How strong women are and because in todays society women aren't seen as equals, this just will remind me seeing it in my dream house that I am strong, powerful, and resilient. And that I should strive for greatness because that is what my ancestors would want. The house has a ton of large windows with sun catchers in them. There is enough space for an art room, and for my friends to move into. My cat would look onto the street in front of the window to greet anyone passing by. I would make a mural on the stairs.

This picture is a dream. I would like to provide my cat with high places to view over the rest of the house. With hardwood floors for easy clean up. As well as leaves, and cute cat themed décor. The use of mounted on cat stairs would also be nice, to provide him easy access to the higher levels. While he is healthy now, it's always a good idea to build with accessibility in mind, No one is young forever. I would also like to add in a mural in the back of my cat's area. He is a really big fan of art in general. My cat loves to watch people paint so I'd make a little painting in the back. 

The size of this would depend on what my house provides. Ideally it would be a little area or closest without a door. (Wouldn't want to accidently lock my cat inside). The cat zone would be much more vibrant than the picture listed, with prismatic primary colors and artworks. Ideally there would also be a window, as my cat likes to chew on electrical wires (so no fairy lights). This area would provide both me and my cat a place to rest . I'd put a stool or blankets in here , and have it be a sensory safe place. Also the podcast where this poster is from is very dear to my heart. I've been listing to it for around 6 years. It introduced me to fiction podcasts, and storytelling as a whole. I also really like eyeballs. It's on the list of things my friends and family tend to group me with ( cats, crows, eyeballs, earrings, art). I would love the extra large door in the room for a nice cooler breeze during the summer. The most important room to me would be the kitchen. I would make sure to have a sun roof in the kitchen as well for natural light and a window viewing the backyard. I would make sure to have eggshell walls with light blue title around the counter tops with a light grey marble title for the island and counter tops. This interior space includes dark green, white, black, and orange color scheme. The main window surrounding the library shelves is an arched circle. The book shelves are fit to the wall with mostly rectangles. The floor is a polished brown wood with a vintage rug that also fits the color scheme of the couch. The wooden chair and coffee table match the floor's color. The big windows will bring natural lighting into use a lot. The pillows on the green couch are in a color's of orange, green, red, and white. There is also a black chandelier that matches the window's border

I really like this rug because of the color scheme of red, green, white, blue, and the fact that it looks vintage. I also would like that color scheme in a house I would live in. The art style is really interesting and detailed with curved shapes of flowers and leaves. This rug could bring a pop of color to any home.

This has been in my family for over 100 years. My great great grandfather on dads side of the family was prespaterian priest in the 20s during the great depression in chicago. This was payment for him doing a wedding. We know nothing about it other then that story my grandmother told us when he gave her the tapastry. I would love to know more about it. But in the tapastry, it appears that there is a bunch of people in a park dancing and having a great time. If I ever do own a home one of the biggest things for me will be the wrap around porch. I feel like the one shown here has so much potential and I can already picture all the different decor for each holiday. I also love the fact that it is a two story home with what looks to be a fire place. You can’t tell much here but one thing that caught my eye with this home as well was the detached garage on the side of the home rather than being right in the front. I love the neutral tone of the home and the way it has the walk up steps. I also really like how it has a bit of a walkway from the sidewalk to the house itself. The white trimmings on the house look so clean and modern to me. I feel like that creates such a nice contrast to the white counters. I also love how some of the cabinets have the glass doors. This have always looked so clean and classy to me. I do also love that there is a lot of counter space without appliances attached to them. The stainless steel appliances sort of bring the kitchen together here. I do like how the stove top is not in the same area as the ovens. It makes the kitchen look a lot more spacious. The hardwood floor here is almost identical to the one in the photo of the kitchen I used so I feel like this sectional would be a great fit. I prefer this fabric of sofa over leather or suede. I’m not quite sure what the fabric would be called but it’s more on the softer more plush side. I also really love the simplicity of the accent tables here. I just feel like these types of furniture pieces are timeless. Because of their neutral tone they will match almost anything. I like the cleanliness of this backyard. It looks like it does not require much maintenance. I do like how the edges of the home are lined with a variety of different plants and flowers. I also really like the area shown here with the small waterfall also surrounded with flowers and plants. I like how clean the grass looks against the concrete and how sharp the edges look. I also like the choice of concrete used here. It r almost looks like tile in some areas. I also love how the patio has the shaded area. I’ve always wanted a gazebo but I feel like this serves the same purpose. One of the things I really love here are the trees up against the fence. I think once fully grown, they would provide a lot of shade in the yard. The artist is Banksy and I would describe this type of art as street art. This painting is called “Girl with Balloon.” It was made in 2002. I actually didn’t know anything about Banksy until taking this class. Now that I’ve seen his artwork, I love it and I would love to have one of his pieces in my home. I love how all of his pieces send some kind of inspiring message. A lot of his art is based around social issues we may be facing at the time. I also just love how this specific piece is all in black and white and has a pop of red in it. I don’t necessarily think that this piece matches the aesthetic of my home. When walking through the gates you walk towards the entrance which is about 3 story high and expands in the right side and the left side. On both ends they have a sort of pentagon shape but the left side has 5 windows while the right side has only one window. Bricks are what make the mansions roof. It has has the shape of a coffee mug however it has handles on the the 2 front sides and 1 handle in the back. At the top of all the handles there is a golden angle almost leaning back towards the body of the porcelain. In the center of the body of the mug there is a background of white ombre into a dark blush pink. The design in front of the background has 3 flowers having the colors beige and gold as the outer line. The stems of the flowers are one of my favorite parts as they almost give the appearance of golden butterflies around the flowers. My dream house is a crossover between a French style country house and a tudor style exterior. French country homes were inspired by the Versailles Palace and they were originally created for aristocrats during the summer. Tudor homes originated in the United States and they are usually recognizable with their stone wall exteriors. The image above represents a sample of what I would want my dream house to look like. I’d like the walls to be a fairly light color, nothing too light or dark. I’d like a combination of rectangular and round windows. There are more rounded windows on the upper floors. I still plan to live in California when I’m older, but perhaps in Saratoga or somewhere a bit quieter than San Jose. An important aspect of my home is that it has a neat and decorative yard. The bathrooms and kitchen will be either a pattern of large tiles or cold stone. All of my walls will be smooth; I am a strong hater of popcorn ceilings. I’m not sure what to choose for the fabrics of my furniture coverings yet, but I am leaning toward simple linen. Most of the objects in my home are rounded geometric shapes. I think organic shapes are cool, but I wouldn't want them as decor and furniture in my personal space. Maybe in decorations, though?

It shows a city street and a business that is closing its doors, the mannequins are on display with some incredible decoration behind them. The realism sets in from the city street it even appears that there is a fight going on across the street showing how random things can happen no matter where you are. Carrying the dark theme once again, but more in a fashion of what you can depict instead of just being colors. It is not a very happy painting despite the smiling mannequin. Dark colors are still shown with lots of blacks and dark blues with a hint of red in the background but a more colorful piece as it gets to the window. With everything from red to blues and brown to a bit of green and yellow on the ground. 2.When it comes to the textures like I said before theres wood that has a bit of a gloss over it. You have stone support beams around the house not just for the look but also to help out the structure of it. you can also see that the house is made up of a type of marble thats a dark grey color. The house is also surrounded with glass for a nice view and to let the natural light to spice up the place.

3. This house has very sharp shapes sharp corners and all. Made of mainly rectangles and squares so it might feel a bit boxy but its just the way I like it. I feel with a design like this its nice and easy to furnish the inside.

The textures include the rocks placed where the well is, and the spikey grass and rough stone near it. The multiple shrubs and trees carry different textures as well. There is a lot of repetition in this garden with the number of stones on the grass and the various trees presented.

    This is a painting by Claude Monet called, “Cliff Walk at Pourville”. I chose this artwork because it demonstrates nature and beautiful scenery. Nature is a prominent aspect incorporated into the style of my home. Thus, this would fit perfectly in acknowledging that theme. The prominent elements used in this painting are texture and color. There are vibrant colors utilized such as light blues and light greens. The artist incorporates small brushstrokes when painting the grass, and implies movement to the wind of the atmosphere. The painting offers a sense of tranquility and ease. It also reminds me of summer because of the water and bright skies.

    I am in love with Art Deco, a beautiful movement originating in France and then exploding in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s. 
    1. I love the colors, Moody blues and greens. Very cool palette, accented and contrasted by brass, wood, glass and steel. Feels very industrial, yet sophisticated to me. 
    2. The textures are bold use of materials, brass, wood, glass and steel. The material itself is showcased,m rather than being painted over or coated. 
    3. The shapes are strong, square and very open. In the fictional city of Rapture from BIOSHOCK, artists and scientists have built an intellectual utopia at the bottom of the sea. Huge, curved panels of glass are often used to showcase the beauty of the natural environment as decoration for the interior space.

    1. Growing up I played a game called BIOSHOCK, which made me fall in love with Art Deco style. The game faithfully presented a mid-century city under the sea. As an adult, I played PREY by Arkane Studios. This game tells a story on a Gigantic Space Station in an alternate timeline where Kennedy never died and the space race made it much further. The game features Neo Deco, and art style that evolved from Art Deco of the 1920s. 
    2. Neo Deco, as well as Art Deco, emphasize large, open spaces and intricate, gigantic decorations. The color and texture are almost always dictated by the material used. Glass, steel, brass, wood- all are showcased so pleasingly in this style.
