#9 - Hello Vietnam by Johnny Wright

This goes as my ninth pick because of the lyrics. The song is depressing but really expresses people's views towards the Vietnam War. They say "goodbye my sweetheart, hello Vietnam" which shows how many families were separated from each other during this time. It even goes to talk about "stopping communism in that land" which refers to people's fear of communism. The song helps me understand the length at which people feared communism, both in the US and in other countries.

I personally like the blues and this goes for my eighth pick. It talks about how African Americans were like second class citizens in the United States. The singer even begins to talk about her job and the different standards that were given to white Americans.

This is just a fun song to listen to. I feel like this song is an American classic. It's about taking you away, probably away from the Vietnam war. It has a lot going on with the instruments and is catchy too. It is interesting to listen to how the music was in the late '60s and how it has changed. The music was cool and made me feel like I was somewhere else.

It is like in Vietnam when people had to walk through the battlefield, not knowing if they will lose their life or live to see another day.

This song is really strong because of how he talks about a thrill that is gone. His lyrics are deep and makes you question the Vietnam War. I think about how long the Vietnam War took during this song, and I think King tries to make the point that it has been too long. This type of chill music on the guitar seems to be quite popular during the Vietnam War Era time.

I like this song because of the vibe I get when listening to it. It talks about giving "a piece of his heart". It sounds like the singer wants to get something off his chest to someone before they leave, probably to Vietnam to fight. The singer also sounds like he wants to give a "piece of his heart" to the person before they go to Vietnam.

I love listening to Marvin Gaye, he has such an amazing voice. He talks about not going to war, and we can have peace instead. Additionally, he talks about brutality in America and Vietnam and what's really "going on". It sounds like he keeps questioning "what's going on" to see if this war is really necessary. It is so heart-warming to see how Marvin just speaks his mind saying "brother, there are too many of you dying" and we "need to bring some loving here today". This is a classic.

This is an American classic. It makes me feel more uplifted, and I could understand why this was popular during the Vietnam War Era. Although happy, the lyrics are a little depressing. It talks about not going out because there is a "bad moon rising" which refers back to the Vietnam War. They also see the "bad times today" and other things. This is interesting because the sounds is fun, but there are subtle parts in the song like "I feel the end is near". All in all, I love listening to this song, and, even with the lyrics, the song is my favorite from this time period.
