Jess is a kind and quiet girl who disagrees keeping the Sikh traditions and to have a make-up. She thinks, that nobody in her family understands her because her father and especially her mother don’t want her to play football. Her father, Mr Bhamra is intolerant and wants Jess to become a lawyer. Her mother, Mrs Bhamra is stubborn and wants Jess to be a housewife and to cook Indian dishes. Jess was always shy so wants to wear her tracksuit bottoms to make sure that nobody can see her scar, but Joe does not agree with her clothes. When she was on the pitch, she didn’t walk to the others. She sat down on a bench. Joe noticed that and so he went to her and wants to know why she sits there. She told him about her scar on her thigh and that she didn’t want to show it to the others. For persuading her, he also showed her his scar on his knee. He told her that he can not play football because of his injury. His father was his trainer and Joe trained very hard. He did not pay attention to his injury and went on with his training. After a while he was not capable to go on with his training, broke up the connection to his father and so he is now “only” a coach. Jess felt pity for him and Joe maked her aware that she can play football and that it does not matter whether she has a scar or not. She was full of empathy in this moment. After a little discussion, Jules persuaded Joe to dance. Jess didn’t want, because she has fear to break her ankle with her heels. So she went to her team. 
During a conversation, Joe came behind her and asked her to dance. At first Jess didn’t want, but then she also went on the dance floor. They only danced for a few moments, because then Jess felt dizzy and so she went outside to take some fresh air. Joe followed her and helped her. When they talked about Joe’s family, they got near and wanted to kiss each other. Suddenly Jules said you bitch and disappeared. jess felt unloyal
On the journey, Jules and Jess didn’t have any contact. That is one disaster, the second disaster was that Jess’ family stayed in front of the bus waiting for her.

She was very sad and says that she had to leave the team. Joe was not very lucky about it but he had to accept her decision.
After her conversation with Joe, she went to Jules and tried to excuse her acting. But Jules didn’t want to forgive her.

In the second half, Jules goaled at first, and then Jess goaled. The enjoyment was big but there is still a big distance between Jules and Jess. In the end of the game Jess got a red card because she gave a player a hard shove. So Joe shouts at Jess and leaved the changing room. Jess started to cry and followed him. Joe said that to her that he has to treat her like the other team members and he said that her acting was not good. Finally he hugged her to calm her. Suddenly someone said Jesminder, she turned around and saw her father. But They drove home without saying anything.

As she arrived full motivated at the pitch, Joe informed her that they are one-nil down. After her warming-up, she got on the pitch. When Jules saw her, her mouth drops open in amazement. That was their chance: Jules and Jess are again friends and teammates. They played better than ever and after a few moments Jules goaled. The second half is hard, but Jess also goaled and they won the match and are the summer tournament champions. Jess is very dynamic and reliable because she put on her sari as fast as she can to return to the wedding of her sister.
