After their performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the influence of The Beatles moved from primarily European to the western part of the world.

Teenagers, more specifically teenage girls, were the main fan base of the Beatles. They were overly enthusiastic and obsessed with them. This is often compared to the phenomenon of "one direction infection" that occurred just a few years ago. There were instances of fainting, screaming, police interference, and many more actions of intense dedication. Teenagers were the ones who made Beatlemania what it was.

One example of crazed fans surprisingly revolves around Jellybeans. In prior interviews, the members of the band had mentioned that they enjoy jelly beans. Fans wanted to show their dedication to the band, so they all went to the show carrying jelly beans and hurled them on stage during the performance. This is just one of the strange instances that occurred because of fans dedication to the band. It represents the craziness and intensity of the fad.
