When I reflect, I can think of several times when I used to babysit my brother and if I was upset I would often raise my voice at him or showed my frustration on him because of my emotions. This could be seen as harsh caregiving as i am raising my voice and taking anger out on my brother opposed to more appropriately dealing with this anger and frustration.

Yes, it depends on the definition of Harsh caregiving. Being strict or raising your voice yes i am guilty of doing that on my children. When i am at work and i see children jumpimg up and down, i tell them please careful you might hurt yourself, but at home with my own kids if they are yelling at each other I raise my voice to tell them cool down, i dont know why this difference in my own behaviour.

Harsh caregiving also effect on our mood and feelings. Sometimes we are so frustrated from the behavior of our educator or caregiver but we show our anger and hard emotions on other's for example, My mother told me that when I was in child care center then one day caregiver behaved so bad with me and she scolded me without any specific reason so that time i was in too much anger and aggression and I showed my frustration on my friend. She said that I was so agressive child. That's why we can say that Harsh caregiving effect's child a lot.
Thankyou
Harpreet Kaur
