Didn't say a word till after her blood had already soaked into the sand,' Jamie said. 'And then he said that if we didn't stay quiet, he would do the same to the rest of us, one by one. No diabolical monologue. No explanation. Nothing.' Jamie paused. 'That all to say-he is one seriously sick ****.' 'I know this.' My voice was firm and clear. 'I've known Jude longer than I've known either of you.' I thought about telling about Laurelton, and the asylum, and the scars on my wrists-the things Jude has done to me, the things he'd made me do. I decided I would, but now was not the time. I'm not saying I trust him. I'm just saying we don't have a lot of other options. Can we just look for a map, please, and get Noah and get the **** out of here?" The reason this piece of evidence relates to my goal because, the person that Mara is talking about did some really bad stuff to Mara and her friends and boyfriend. So after all of that she never trusted him. But now he is helping her escape a building on 'No Name Key Island' and this was her only chance at really escaping. So this motivated her to decided between people that were using her and her friends for experiments or listening to someone she doesn't trust to escape, she chose to escape. Also there is another situation where on page 53 it says, "I decided I would, but now was not the time." she decided that now was not the time to tell her how she has known Jude, that was at one point trying to kidnap them and torture them later on because they didn't have time and they needed to get some things that can tell them why they are where they are in the first place. So it motivated her to take time more seriously.

"Jamie came up with the implausible explanation we would offer to each of our respective families when we showed up on our respective doorsteps. I'd seen Jamie work miracles, but this was my mother I had to convince. I did not have high hopes." Since Mara has known her mother for literally her whole life, which motivated her to doubt her best friend.

"She would be right to leave me, after everything." This piece of evidence relates to my goal because, Noah, is in love with Mara, but he isn't in love with her enough to let her go. He is selfish and wants to keep her and as to her as well. On page 434, the evidence from before continues onto, "But I am a coward and can't bear to let her go. And she follows me anyway." Also proving that he loves her, but not enough to let her go. These small pieces of evidence shows the motivation, to keep loving Mara, but never enough to let her go.

"You will love Noah Shaw to ruins, unless you let him go." This piece of evidence is rellavent to my goal because, Mara has heard this twice before and now three times, but by three different people. And she has tried to let Noah go, but she loves him to much. This small piece of evidence reveals the motivation, to keep loving Noah, but not enough to let him go.
