         <title>Famous Scientists and their Discoveries</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The purpose of the strategy is for students to become familiar with famous scientists throughout history and their well-known discoveries. For example, a student may grab a card with Einstein. Then they would go find another student who possessed the card with his discovery of the equation E=mc2 (Connell, 2013). <br>In relating to how it is appropriate for 7th grade students, it helps them better remember the famous scientists discussed in class. Additionally, it helps them correlate which discovery they made by using them to put themselves into groups.<br><br>References:<br>Connell, G.          <title>Team Shake Mobile App</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The purpose of using the mobile app <em>Team Shake</em> to group students together is to help randomize the groupings. Furthermore, it gives students a variety of how their groups are chosen without means of the teacher picking their groups or needing to create their own groups.  <br>The app works by one entering the students' names, selecting the number of groups one wants, and shaking one's mobile device several times (Connell, 2013). Afterwards, the groups are created without any hassle and students are less likely to argue.<br>This is appropriate for 7th grade students since the app is picking groups for them. Furthermore, there is nothing inappropriate or suspicious about the app picking groups for the students in a scientific setting. <br>References:<br>Connell, G.          <title>Science Meme Puzzle Pieces</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The purpose of using appropriate science memes for grouping students is to create humor within the classroom. Memes are a popular subject among students. Many find them hilarious and corny. Using memes to group students will help students laugh. Additionally, it will make a more enjoyable experience when it comes to science.<br>Using memes as a puzzle piece would involve printing out multiple scientific memes, laminating them, cutting them into two or more pieces, and ensuring the pieces fit in a unique manner so students who did not understand the meme are able to group with one another (Connell, 2013).<br>I feel it is appropriate for 7th grade students to use science memes for groupings to incorporate something they know outside from school to making it relatable to the classroom.          <title>Pulling Animal Names Out of a Basket </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The purpose of pulling animals names out of a basket is to help students know about the different animals out there in the world (TeachHub, n.d.). I would write down animals students are not aware about onto pieces of paper. Then I would put them into a basket. When students do not know about an animal or plant, they are likely to try to find out more information about it. <br>I feel it is appropriate for 7th grade students due to the science curriculum teaching about biology and habitats. When students understand the different names of animals from pulling out of the basket, they are curious about what they look like and where they live.          <title>Grouping Strategies: Introduction</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Groups are an essential part of the classroom. They help students interact with one another as well as understand the material at hand. Whenever students explain a concept to one another, they are more likely to comprehend it compared to when only the teacher explains it to them (Briggs, 2013). Throughout the five strategies, I did not incorporate a strategy where the students pick their own groups or me choosing their groups. The main reason why I left out students picking their own groups is because whenever this occurs a student is left out and feels lost about what group to join. I definitely understand the feeling since it use to happen to me quite often whenever I attended school. It is an uncomfortable situation and no other student needs to go through such an ordeal. The top reason why I did not provide a strategy with me choosing groups is because students complain whenever a teacher picks their groups. They feel it is unfair and like the teacher is making the decisions for them. Using random grouping strategies helps to create diversity within the groups. Additionally, it help students get to know one another and may lead them to seeing what is beyond their classmate. <br><br>References:<br>Briggs, S. (2013). Additionally, it will help make class more enjoyable for them. These strategies will enrich the students and help them build more self confidence within themselves.          <description><![CDATA[<div>With this app, I can create grids with topics of scientific discussions (Mulvahill, 2016). From there, the students respond with recorded videos which are shared via tablet or mobile (Mulvahill, 2016). This app alone helps students collaborate with one another on their own terms as well as use technology in the process. I feel this is appropriate for 7th grade students since they are using technology to make collaborating with one another more enjoyable.          <description><![CDATA[<div>With this website, students can help one another with homework problems they are possessing trouble with (Mulvahill, 2016. This will help students collaborate with one another outside of class if they are possessing difficulty with some of the homework problems. Students tend to learn more from each other when a peer is explaining the problem in a manner they can understand (Briggs, 2013). I feel this is appropriate for 7th graders since students at this age are use to using social media for communicating with friends and family members.          <title>Graffiti</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this activity, I would cut six pieces of chart paper with one statement on each paper (Boschen, n.d.). I would put them around the classroom. The students are put into groups and each given a marker (Boschen, n.d.). They move through each paper, writing something on it. Each student is required to write something on each paper since they possess a marker (Boschen, n.d.). I would start this at the beginning of the year with low-key statements and work my way up to scientific statements to use to review content (Boschen, n.d.). This activity would help students feel involved in class as well as feel their voice is heard. I feel this is appropriate for 7th grade students since they want their voice to be heard, especially in regards to their peers.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In this activity, students are put into groups of four. The students would number themselves off from 1 to 4. I would announce a question in relation to the topic we are discussing in class. The students within their groups come up with an answer. I would call a number and the students with the number called will stand up to answer the question. The purpose of this activity is to get the students engage in a rich discussion about the topic. I feel this is appropriate for 7th grade students due to the fact they are able to talk to each other in a group setting about the topic at hand.
