I like the message that this song is sending. The song talks about Hate, Racism, Suicide, Violence, Drugs, War, Poverty, Etc. I found that it’s sort of ironic how in one verse he says “Let’s smoke some crack tonight” And in other verses he talks about how bad drugs are. There are a few things I got out of this song it mainly made me think of war’s going on right now like the war on drugs and the war on terror (A lost cause of a war. Where people kill each other over which god is more peaceful.) I usually don’t like mainstream rap (queue hipster joke.) But in written form the song is pretty deep. We won’t ever stop people from doing drugs but what we can do is teach them about the side effects of drugs. Same goes for every single other political crisis in the last decade. Hate, Racism, Suicide, War, Depression, Drugs, Murder, These are all things we can prevent. I feel that 2PAC is the most suitable person to talk about this. He’s experienced all of the things listed in the song. I found it hard to relate to the song
because I’ve never experienced any of these things. Thank you for reading.

I will be talking about the song called "Changes" by Tupac. I will be: 1. expressing opinions and making judgements supported by explanations and evidence, 2. explaining connections, and 3. identifying personally meaningful elections, passages and images.

The song is about things like racism, murder, discrimination, change(s), drugs, police etc. The artist, Tupac, was talking about these things and his brother Huey who had passed away. I could come up with a few few connections off the top of my head. Racism: Lots of soccer players have been racist to other players and racism is very common in soccer, and actually racism is the topic I chose for my speech. Drugs: Lots of people use drugs and/or sell them and get caught by the police. Change(s): I think he's singing this from the heart because he's saying that loosing his brother is hard for him to recover from and he said, "That's just the way it is," and, "Things'll never be the same," because that's what happens and it won't be the same without him. Discrimination: I was playing in a soccer game and a player on the opposing team was taunting team-ate of mine because he was overweight. I learned that the song "Changes" was recorded in 1992 and remixed in 1997-1998, who Huey P. Newton is, and that there was another great song that I like out there. To help support my previous connections I have another. On the news this week there was a guy who has been living living on the streets since he was eleven and used drugs like cocaine and heroin and sold them on the streets, but now he's changed his life around and is talking to kids about his life. "Things'll never be the same," and, "That's just the way it is," in the song changes by Tupac Shakur are two powerful passages because people will know what Tupac went through.

Thank you M. Walsh for showing us this great song! I have learned a lot about what some people go thru and other thing. Everybody remember- DON'T DO DRUGS !!!

-Grayson

Here are some of my feelings thoughts and connections to this song…

I think that this song is happy and sad. It is sad because when I read the lyrics I felt some of the pain that the singer has experienced, but happy because after I listened to the song I reflected on how change is happening, and things are getting better. This song reminded me of a song called “Take a minute” By K’naan. Both songs talk about how black people are treated differently than white people.

I feel depressed when I listen to these kinds of songs. It’s strange though; because the majority of the depression caused by this song is, that it was accepted. Racism, discrimination, killing, war, suicide, murder, drugs and violence were all accepted, and it seems like the majority of people didn’t realize that it was/is wrong. This song was confusing the first time I heard it because Tupak says “Cause both black and white are smokin' crack tonight.” This passage gives you the impression that he is not against drugs. But he also says "I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way. After I read the lyrics it made more sense. Tupak also says “we ain't ready to see a black President, uhh.” But now the United States does have a black president (Barack Obama), I hope that is a sign of change.

All of the lyrics/passages in this song are meaningful in their own way, but to me the most important is “Cops give a damn about a negro? Pull the trigger, kill a nigga, he's a hero.” Because this passage, (to me) shows the perspective of this song. It was hard to make deep connections because none of this has happened to me.

(P.S Mr. Walsh, will we be doing the same thing (Song Review) but with a song that we chose?)

Chiara: YES!

Changes by
2pac

In the song they talk about how someday we will have a black president and selling drugs to kids. This song reminds me of Vancouver because there are a lot of stuff like that there and peoples living on the
street. And I’m sure that someone somewhere is selling or trying to sell drugs to kids. They also talk about his brother named Huey, who was a part in the Black Panther party and they were trying to protest civil rights. In the beginning of the song he says that he’s looking for a purse to snatch and he is thinking about suicide near the middle of the song he talks about Huey trying to stand up for all the black peoples then there is two gun shots in the dark then Huey is dead. Listening to this song makes me think of two thing, 1. I remember when I was in Vancouver and there was a bunch of hobos in an ally and they had rugs and blankets in the floor and on the rugs and stuff there was garbage and stuff and they were trying to sell stuff. 2. My dad told me a story of when he went to Vancouver and there was hobo on the curb and there was a family with a little girl about 3 or 4 years old, they hobo called out to the little girl and said” hey, you’re a princess “and the little girl shouted back “NO I’M NOT! “After they were about a block away the hobo said it again and the little girl shouted back “ NO I’M NOT!!! “

The end… J

I wouldn’tlisten to this song if I could help it. Maybe if I lived in nineteen eighty and maybe if I was black then I could and would listen to this song, a lot, maybe all the time, but unfortunately I am not black or
in the nineteen eighty’s so I cant relate to this song. I think of world war two when I hear this song if you call that a connection. But I think that I am the one person in the class who doesn’t like this song So I cant think that it is something others will say. So this is my review I give it 4 out of 10 for stereotyping and drug reference but I upped the mark to 6 out of 10 for speaking out of the heart and for a good cause. I also think that the song should be redone just because we as a world have gotten a bit better. I think
that it is good that tupac made the video because it probably inspired a lot of people to take action and try to stop the racism and discrimination. I respect him for speaking out and trying to help. So that is my review of Tupacs Changes by Alex

The song changes by 2pacs is a really deep song. It talks a lot about racism bullying and violence. I think it this song relates to the song starting over by maklemore because it’s about violence and bullying. Back to the song changes they talk a lot about drugs and that a black president will never be possible. One day in Victoria. me and my mum where walking down town and we saw top dudes and they asked my mum if she want to buy some drugs. So we started walking a lot faster. That was the most I could relate to this song. When I was righting this song I was listing to bob Marley. And he talks all about peace and everything is going to be alright loving everybody I think bob Marley and Mr. 2pac have a lot in common with their music. But I don’t know bob or Mr. 2pac so they could be a lot different I wish changes by 2pac had a bit more happiness that would make the song a lot better if more people listing to the song changes by 2pac there will be a lot less raises faces thank you for reading this have a good day!!!!!

I’m writing my response to “changes” by 2pac. I’m going to write about three things. First, my personal response to the song. Second, connections I made (text to text, text to me and text to world). Finally, I’m going to talk about the passages that spoke to me.

I don’t really like the song. The big thing I don’t like is that 2pac does say things have to change but he doesn’t say how to make the change happen. The song would be better if he explained how
to cause the change. Other then that I think it’s a good song.

I can’t connect really deeply to the song but I can connect to it. I’m First-Nations and a lot of people really hate First-Nations, just like what 2pac talks about in his song. This song reminds me of the book ‘Black and White’ by Eric Walters. Both the song and the book talk a lot about racism
and discrimination. Finally, I can connect this book to the world. “Changes” talks
about the real world.

I’m going to show you three passages that spoke to me. The first: “I see no changes. Wake up in the morning and I ask myself, is life worth living? Should I blast myself?" (Shakur, 1994). This passage made me think because 2pac is describing how he feels. What makes it sad though is that people caused
him to feel the way he did/does. The second passage: “It’s time to fight back, that’s what Huey said. Two shots in the dark now Huey’s dead.” Huey was a black activist. He strongly believed that black people deserved the same rights as everyone else. He was murdered for what he believed. I think 2pac is describing the despair he feels; he wants change but the last person who wanted change was killed. Finally, the last verse: Now tell me what’s a mother to do? Bein’ real don’t appeal to the brother in you.” I think this verse says that white people need to change but black people need to change to. If a change happens it needs to happen to everyone.

  Thanks for reading,

:)Colton:)

Today
i'm going to talk about my response to the song "Changes"
by 2pac. First i'm going to talk about what i think about the song.
Second connections i have to the song.Thirdly i;m going to talk bout the passeges that i thought meant
alot. think this was a good songhow it talks about racism, drugs, the police

and murder I have a few connections. Racism: In some of the sports
around the world their is racism like lacrosse and soccer a couple
years ago some person In my lacrosse league did a racial slure and
got kicked out of the league and in soccer their has been lots of
problems with racism players being racist to other players. Drugs:
Lots of people around the world use or sell drugs and sometimes get
caught by the police. Murder: 2pac talks about if you killed a white
person everyone would be all mad and stuff like that but if you
killed a black person people would treat you like a hero. Police: I

thought one of the passeges that i thought was important was “its
time to fight back is what Huey said “ he thought that everyone
should have the same rights and that black people should not get
treated differently. I also thought the verse “we will never have a
black presendent” has had a step forward because now there is a
black presedent in the united states and that some of the things in
this song are starting to happen.

I'm going to talk to you about the song Changes by Tupac. First I'm going to talk about what I think about the song. Seconly I will talk about connections I have to the song, and third I will talk about the passages I think are most important to me.

What I think about the song: I liked this song because it combines two types of muic, rap and classic rock . I also liked the lyrics. They made you want to listen and they made you think about the meaning of those words. I think this song would inspire lots of people. I thought it was cool how he said " we aint ready to see a black president uhh". We now have seen the first black president of the United States. It feels like the world has changed and is changing for the better. Making it a better life for everybody and everybody will have equal rights.

I have to the song: my connection is that we recently read books about the holocaust and the holocaust started about people being racist to each other people. They did think they were better than everybody else.

I think are most important to me: I think the passage " I'd love to go back when we played as kids but thinges changed thats just the way it is”. I think this is important because every kid loves to be able to
go outside and feel safe and most of us can but some are not as lucky. I also think the passage " come on come thats just the way it is things'll will never be the same thats just the way it is awww yeah" is important. He is right, things will never be the same. The world can get better or worse. If we keep evolving and trying we can make the world a better place for everyone it will get

Today I am going to talk about the song Changes by Tupac. First I am going to talk about what I think about the song and my thoughts, second I will make a connection with the song and last I am going to talk about a passage from the song that I find important.

I really liked this song in the fact that you really have to listen to the lyrics and the lyrics mean something to the artist. When I first heard song title I thought the song was going going to be happy and promote being the change you want to see but it was totally different. The song talked about accepting the way things are, racism, suicide and war but it also talks more about change towards the end it talks about that you need to treat everyone equally, don't bully and change. This is also proof that anyone can succeed.

My connection. I can connect this song to the war in Afghanistan because in both cases they are just hurting people like them. In both cases somtimes guns, war and a hard life is all they know so its hard to see change and make change happened. That's why the main lyrics says that's just the way it is and that lyrics to me mean you can only change things so much till its out of your hands. I can also connect the two with the fact that you never hear about these things on the news. The same day that the Boston bombing happened 200 people died in Afghanistan in a car bombing. The same thing goes for the song changes I never new how hard people had to live if you were African American. I asked my mom why we never hear about these things and she said because they are the ones bombing and causing pain to each other but in Boston's case it was terrorist that did. I think that is very wrong.

The passage I chose is the main lyric "that's just the way it is" and to me it means you need to be the change and you need to make the change to see it but there is only so much you can change until its out of your hands.

Overall I liked the song "Changes" by Tupac. It had a good message. I thought the song was inspirational. Thank you for reading my song review on the song "Changes".

The following essa is going to talk about an interesting song by Tupac called "changes". First I am going to talk about my thoughts, second I am going to talk about my connection, and last I am going to talk about which parts of the song I thought were the best.

I think the song is really important and that people should listen to it, because not everyone will get the same thoughts/opinions on it. In the song, he is speaking from his heart, because the lyrics sound really personal and if they came straight from his memories, he is proof that everyone can succeed.

One of Tupac's other songs called "I ain't mad at cha" is similar to the song "Changes" because they both talk about how black people don't matter and it’s just the way it is. I don't think that is true, because everyone deserves to succeed if they put the work ethic in. The two songs are also similar because they both mean it’s not your fault, when really it is our fault, I think we should try to keep them in school and help them succeed.

There are some passages in the song that are kind of disturbing to me. "Cops give a damn about a negro, pull the trigger kill a nigro he's a hero" I think this is really sad that people think like this, but it’s our job to not sell drugs to them and to not sell guns to them, because if we do this is what happens, I don't know how people can live with themselves knowing they killed someone, even if it is for money wouldn’t they feel guilty at all?

Thank you for reading my homework. I hope you have a nice day.

Today I will be talking about the song "changes" by Tupac, first I am going to talk about some of the passages in the song, second I am going to talk about my connections to the song and third I am going to talk about what I thought of the song.

In the song there were interesting sections in the lyrics, like the part where he said: "how can the devil take a brother if he's close to me" (Shakur 1994). That is a really powerful passage because it could mean a lot of things, for an example it could mean that a person doesn't want a thing that is close to them to die or a friend of someone had just had someone close to them die and they feel that that wasn't the right time for them to die. I think that it relates back to my life because I have had pets and close family pass away and I didn't want them to pass away, but everything happens for a reason and not all reasons are the same.

I don't really have any connections to the song thus I cannot connect to the song, but there are a lot of songs that are like this for an example "perfect" by pink is a song about a person who doesn't feel good about herself and she starts stealing stuff and doing a bunch of things that are not good. I think that relates to this song because in "changes" they sing about drugs and people doing bad things and in "perfect" pink sings about not feeling good about yourself and doing bad things so I think in my opinion they relate. I think that this song relates to the whole world, for an example most of the things that Tupac said in the song happens almost every day all over the world and I don't think that it is fair.

Over all I liked and didn't like the song I liked the song because it made sense, it could make people realize that doing drugs are not good and it has a good beat to it and a good beat always tunes people in. I didn't like the song because it made me and most likely a bunch of other people sad and like Chiara said the song makes you feel depressed and sad and I don't really like to be depressed and sad because I liked to be pumped up for whatever is left or what is coming of the day.

thank you for reading my "essay", bye.

-The Meganator

Hello people of the world. I am going to talk about the song Changes by Tupac 1994. This is a song that M.Walsh chose for us to talk about. I'm going to talk about the meaning of the song, what I think about it and what I can relate it to. I hope you enjoy the magical journey of Tupac.

I think the message in this song is important because, it tells us that different races didn’t always get along together in this world. Lots of people were killed in that period of time. It’s very sad and it’s too bad they didn’t realize the error of their ways sooner.

I think that the following lyrics in Tupac Shakur's (1994) song known as Changes ,
“and as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped and I never get to lay back. 'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the payback. Some punk that I roughed up way back... comin' back after all these years” (line, 17) have a very deep meaning to the song. It shows that they used to hold grudges for years and years. People still do

I don’t really feel like I can relate to this song. I don’t really listen to this kind of music. This song reminds me of the song Changes by David Bowie because they’re both about people changing and life changing.I think that almost everyone in that time wanted things to change and there must’ve been at least one or two people who weren’t racist. I think that people were just taught to be racist at young ages. It’s too bad because if they had just realised what they were doing was wrong sooner, then things could have been better sooner.

I'm going to talk to you about the song Changes by 2pac. First I'm going to talk about what I think
about the song. Then I will talk about the passages I think are most important.

I think the guy who sang the song really meant what he was saying. It was coming from the heart. It is also a very good song with the rap. It has a very good message. I think everyone should listen to the song, because it might mean something to them, then they might want to change. The song could mean lots of thing. To me its means... we all need to treat people as equals. It does not matter what race they are.

I think the following passage by Tupac Shakur (1994) in the song changes “Cops give a damn about a negro, pull the trigger kill a nigga he’s a hero” is really important because it says cops don’t care about black people (Line 22). But like I said before we have to treat everyone the same, because we are all the same. So the cops should care about everyone. I also think the passage ... “that’s just the way it is” To me it means ... You need to be the changes you want to see in the world.

Well thats what I think about the song changes by 2pac. We need to treat people as equals. I hope u liked reading my homework. :D

So the song is like there talking about racisime and black people against black people. 2-pac wants to change the world. If that hapends that's just the way it is and things will never be the same.So back to the song people are killing people like that could be someone's mother or father. Then they start talking about drugs and how he's selling the drug's to the kids and how making just a living for food and a house.

But at the star his brother die's so that's why i think he solled the drug's to the gun's and drug's and steped back and watched the kids kill each other.I think i can relate a little of the movie called hairspray about the niegro day and the black people could do any thing and some of the white people help them black people go on the show called hairspayin the show and they make it So that's how i can relate to this song.

It's kind of like war without the tanks, planes and the other stuff. And in the song he talk's about suicide nobody want's to die they just think it's right but it's not.I hope you like my s\a thank you for lisening merci beaucoup have a good day the end

Hello, today I am going to write about the song "Changes" by Tupac. Here are the four things about the song that I have written about.

What I think the song is about.

What I think Tupac was saying in the song.

Connections.

What I think of the song.

I think the song is about life and how even if it is sucking you should still never give up. In the beginning
of the song the guy is talking about killing himself, but then he realizes that "that's just the way it is" and that he just has to accept that.

I think that Tupac was trying to get the message across that not everybody has a great life, but that you don't have to kill yourself if you don't. That you
should still try to live your life to it's fullest

I think this song is really great because it
is about a man trying to get a message across and I think a song would
be the perfect way to do so. This song really reminds me of a song for
Hattie's because it is about the world and so is this song.

Not trying to be judgy but if I were to rate the song out of 10 it would be a 8.5. The reason that is, is because the lyrics are really good but just
the song in general could have been better. Even though I know that
this assignment was not about the song it was about what it meant. On
that note I think the song touched me. I think the lyrics were very
powerful. Tupac was or is a very good writer.

Thank you for reading my thoughts on the song "Changes" by Tupac.

Hello, today I am going to talk to you abut the song "Changes" by Tupac Shakur. First I am going to talk about important passages of the song, and second I am gong to talk to you about what I thought about the song.

The lyrics in the song were mostly about what happend in Tupacs life and what happend back then when you were aloud to to carry guns and shoot people if you wanted to. I thought these lyrics in the song were very strong lyrics: "all i see is racist faces". Those lyrics got me thinking the most in that song because I've seen many movies about where black people couldent be mixed with white people and the only time they could be mixed with each other was on negro day. After the black people could be mixed with the white people the white people did not treat the black people very nice and when a black person walked by a group of white people they would be racist and say like you don't belong here or your terrible because your black and stuff.

I thought the song was really good because it talks about what happend in Tupacs life and how we need to change how we live how we eat and how we treat each other. I we do need to change how we eat and how we live and treat each other because in the United States of America alot of the people are obese and unhealthy, Also in alot of the states in America have alot of people that carry around guns and stuff and alot of people die every year in America because they get shot or murdered. And how we live we should be very thankful that we live in Canada because it is one of the few contrys that is protected from terrorists and bad guys how we need to change in America is that we've got to stop killing and fighting people so much because we are losing so many people from getting killed in fights and gangs.

- Abraham Lincoln former president of the United States and I'm sure the best president evah!!!!!

I mean thanks.

    Who is this?

I'm going to talk about the song ''Changes'' by Tupac Shakur. The song was published 1994. This is a song review for my homework.

I think the song was talking about how hard life can be, but to not give up. It was also about life now is so much different then from when he was a kid. Then song talked a lot about drugs, alcohol, murder, guns, racism and other stuff like that. He feels like killing himself but then he realizes that that is just the way it is, or in his words "That's just the way it is, thinngs will never be the saaammme."

I think Tupac was trying to say that not everybody has a good life, and if you don't, you shouldn't kill yourself. Just make the most of it, do the best you can.

I like how Tupac shared his opinion through a song, so that it was interesting to hear and you wouldn't be like "This is sooooo boooriiing!'' It was interesting to hear about his life, because it was from a "black" person's perspective. (I don't mean to be racist!)

Over all I liked the song. If I could understand the words better, it would have been even better!( But that's what lyric videos are for!) If Tupac made another song I would most likely listen to it (I know he's dead though, and he has done another song I bet, I don't know.) Thank you for reading this, I hope I didn't bore you to death! ( XD)

Tupac Shakur wrote the song changes 1992. The song discusses all of the different issues that were related to 2Pac's era of influence that include: racism, police brutality, drugs and gang violence.

Little did he know that so many people could relate to this one song. In the song changes Tupac said:"You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do what we gotta do, to survive." That is the line that speaks to me the most because he's saying that we can't wait for other people to change the world we have to do it ourselves or else no one else will

What I think Tupac was trying to say is that all of us need to change in some way (ex:"We gotta make a change it's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes. Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live and let's change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do what we gotta do, to survive.")

One of the things that I don't get is that this song was a really big hit in Norway and Norway has a very very low poverty rate, but who doesn't like rap music?

2 pac

changes song review

(text to world) I think the song had a strong sense with with the whole world because he is talking about his life when he was a teenager and about him selling drugs so he could eat and that know way to make money but no one really wanted to hire a black man so how else is he going to surviv. thats why we need to make changes .

(text to self) the part that relats to me is when he says "we gotta make some changes"

its kind of like me and keiran.we brothers get into alot of fights and thats what we have to change but my dad says we will probobly mello with age and that is kind of nice to know. i dont want to be like thise my whole life whith Keiran.

(text to text)this song is like the other one he made that is until the end of time because it talks about how he hates selling drugs to 15 & 16 year olds. he knows its going to kill tem but its the only way for him to buy food so he can feed his family and get them good education but he says he should not have to do that to get his kids a proper educationso thats why i picked this song becaus their needs to be a better way to get his kids into a schol where thy wont be temptet to do drugs and thats why theire needs to be some changes.

THE END!!!!!!!!!!!

about how racist some people can be and how life was terrible for the black

things to me because 2pac talks about racism and how people could just kill and
hurt each other like kids could walk just walk around with a gun in their jacket
and could just pull it out and kill somebody is they didn’t like something
about them he also talked about how he wants everybody to treat each other like
equals and not like your better than the other person.

There are many things that are very important
to the song “changes” one of the lyrics that really speak to me is “I see no
changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself is life worth living should I blast
myself” ( 2pac 1994 line: 1) he is saying that because he doesn’t know what to
do because he has had such a bad life because of the bullying and racism it’s
so sad because there where so many people getting hurt because of racism that
some even commit suicide. 2pac also got awarded a Grammy for best rap solo on
changes. I think that is amazing for him.

Thanks for listening to my speech on
