This is where I got really passionate about access in education as majority of first-gen and students of color start however are pushed out due to policies.

Being a first-gen means a lot to me where I was able to graduate because of my community and loved ones. 

I minored in Education studies where was heavily focused in college access and students of color. Did research papers and research projects that center on First-gen students. This is where I really develop my mindset as a researcher and how to center underrepresented experiences and voices in academia.

It really allowed me to connect theory with practice as I was able to make the connections from the readings with the students. 

Also really solidified what we are doing matters a lot to the students. It was great to see the potential all of these students have.
