For example, when I was teaching about volcanoes in January 2020, I noticed that the students are very much eager and engaged because all of us have experienced the Taal phreatic eruption. It could have been the first volcanic eruption they have witnessed in their lifetime, and so they have mixed feelings about it. Some were even in the vicinity of the volcano when it happened. They felt fear, some were mesmerized, but I know one thing's for sure. They understood well what volcanoes are all about because they have a first-hand experience of it, and their emotions are very strong.

So, to incorporate IBTL, make sure that the lesson is contextualized. Make your lesson relatable to the students, and they will talk bunch about it. A productive noise, for me, is better than silence in the classroom.

When we also start our lesson with something surprising or something that they are not aware of that much, it made them remember the concept because of the real life scenarios and applications of the concept presented to them. Every lesson is an opportunity to apply IBTL. Actually, it is applied in our Science teaching. It is very important since it helps the students to be critical thinkers especially during this time when misinformation abound.
