I never thought about what we learned in those classes as a form of literacy but looking back on it, it did help me with my music and simple literacy skills. By the end of my high school career I had learned conducted, taught the highest level of orchestra at my school, performed several times, went to a lot of rehearsals, and of coursed learned a lot about music
