         <description><![CDATA[<div>Children ages 48-60 months, that engage in painting meet several of the GELD standards such as...(notes 7)<br><br></div><ul><li>CD-CR2.4a Uses materials to create original work for self-expression and to express individual creativity.  </li><li>She uses the paint and paper to show her creativity.  </li><li>APL3.4a Engages in independent activities and continues tasks over a period of time. </li><li>She goes from painting to washing the brush, to a to getting white paper and clipping it on, all on her own. She continues painting throughout the entire observation.  </li><li>APL1.4b Selects and carries out activities without adult prompting. </li><li>She washes her paintbrush out and gets clean white paper (again, all on her own). </li><li>PDM6.4a Performs fine-motor tasks that require small-muscle strength and control.  </li><li>She is gripping the paintbrush with her thumb and index finder.  </li></ul><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Children at play meet several of GELD standards such as...(notes 1)<br><br></div><ul><li>SED1.4d Shows independence in his/her own choices </li><li>She goes from cooking, to drawing shapes on the board, to playing with dolls all on her own.  </li><li>SED1.4c Shows confidence in a range of abilities and the capacity to accomplish tasks and take on new tasks. </li><li>She says “I can do this”.  </li><li>SED2.4c Uses pretend play to present emotions of self and others.  </li><li>Using man doll to be the teacher.  </li><li>PDM4.4b Takes things apart and invents new structures using the parts.  </li><li>Child uses Legos to make a pattern. </li><li>Standard PDM6: The child will demonstrate fine motor skills. </li><li>She picks up another one and begins drawing shapes.</li><li>PDM1.4d Communicates the importance of safety rules. </li><li>“I have to clean up so no one gets hurt from falling over toys. </li></ul>]]></description>
