Padlet is a great resource to host a collaborative book talk or current events conversation with another classroom. If doing a book talk, use the options to add columns for different features to discuss such as foreshadowing, character development, etc. For current events, encourage students to compare and contrast their experiences related to the world events as part of your global conversation. The attached video shares step-by-step directions for setting up a remote book talk session that can be adapted to a collaborative, global book talk.

I love how you used it to get kids talking about what their schools and communities are like. This is a quick and easy way to learn about other people from across the world. I think you could easily create book questions or ask people across the world to record videos of themselves answering questions and have them upload them to Padlet. I think for social studies having students share current events so you can see what each places news sources look like be able to compare and contrast these!

For example, what is a typical school day like for you where you live? Or what types of sports do you play or what types of foods are popular where you live? I teach 6th grade ELA and we often have characters from around the world in the novels in our curriculum.
