The wings of a bird posses a aerofoil shape which provides an upward dynamic lift while moving horizontally through the air . When the orientation of the wing is opposite to direction of flow causing the crowding of streamlines above it , as a result the velocity of the air above the wing is more relative to the bottom resulting in an upward dynamic lift as per the magnus effect which states that when there is a diff in velocity on the upper and lower faces of a body , it results in a pressure difference causing a lift in the suitable direction
