Using identical curriculum that are evidence-based we can collectively assess students social and emotional learning through a look for tool. We need to calibrate what is developmentally appropriate to expect of each student.

High quality programs allow for interventions to take place early. Children are exposed to routines, expectations and HQIM that allow them to be prepared for K. The DIAL is able to provide data on incoming K students and often indicates a positive correlation between quality programs and higher scores.

Curriculum alignment, professional development, student support services. It would be helpful to share resources. The district currently holds a yearly related service provider training to head start. Behavior management and trauma related trainings are popular topics for staff. It would be nice to continue this work and include additional community partners.

I have finally had a moment to look through the slides from the last meeting.

They look great. I did want to just add something about quality. As a Head Start program we focus so much on the WHOLE child, meaning family included. I oversee our Family Engagement Team, along with Mental Health & Disabilities and these 2 components go hand-in-hand. We track an abundance of goals, including child goals & family goals. We do this by rating our families quarterly on a 1-5 scale utilizing a "Family Outcomes Survey". This is based off of a Head Start framework called Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework. Being that I am very passionate about this framework and how it relates to quality, I just wanted to share that with you.
