Brownish waters as waves break on the shore. Sign of erosion - brownish water is sand and finer sediments suspended in the water.
Grasses at backshore also help stabilise the sand - sometimes used as coastal protection measure

The seawall gives way to a stepped seawall. In some areas, stepped seawalls are used instead of normal seawalls to resolve the problems of the powerful backwash.

Singapore doesn't really use groynes as a coastal protection measure, but there are cases where pipes and jetties protuding out to the sea have also helped serve as groynes, reducing the rate of longshore drift along the coast.
